Exercise and Fitness for Seniors and Mobility Challenged

My name is Anne Burnell, and I am offering help to anyone looking for guidance or advice.

I am Faculty Presenter for the National Council on Aging and an Education Provider with the American Council on Exercise, the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America, the Aquatic Therapy and rehabilitation Institute, the Aquatic Exercise Association, and Stott™ Pilates.

I teach at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the University of Illinois at Chicago, The Rehabilitation ...

I am Faculty Presenter for the National Council on Aging and an Education Provider with the American Council on Exercise, the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America, the Aquatic Therapy and rehabilitation Institute, the Aquatic Exercise Association, and Stott™ Pilates.

I teach at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the University of Illinois at Chicago, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, The Center for Whole Health, the Peninsula Spa, , Core Evolution, and Elements in Motion, a Stott™ Pilates Certification Center in Chicago.

As an Instructor Trainer worldwide for Stott™ Pilates I am involved in certifying personal trainers, many of whom work with Seniors. Other certifications include: Seniors Group Instruction, Nia Technique (Black Belt), Kickboxing, Cycling, Aquatics, Pre & Postnatal exercise.

Seniors institutions across the country are practicing the Stronger Seniors® Chair Exercise Program, which I developed in 2003.

If we will diet prayerfully, constantly relying on Jesus Christ for comfort and strength, then we will please the Lord and lose weight at the same time. With Christ we become overcomers

Dear Anne,

I happily stumbled upon this page and mighty glad I did. I am an 86 year old from India, struggling with Arthtirtis in both my knees as well as acute RA in my right shoulder. I just can't raise my right had too high so need help in even changing my clothes or combing my hair.

My knees have been giving me problems and drastically reduced my mobility.
Finally an attack of Dengue fever a fortnight ago had left me bed ridden, but now I am wheelchair bound. My GP tells me it will take me anywhere between 4 to 6 months to be able to walk the little that I used to. I had managed to lose almost 2 kilos before I fell ill and am scared that I might gain weight if i remain so inactive.... need your advise.

Also where can I order these DVDs in India?
