Keep Your Focus

My attention to exercise really began in college when I started cycling. To me, to be a real cyclist, I had to ride 100 miles in one day - so I did. My attention to exercise really began in college when I started cycling. To me, to be a real cyclist, I had to ride 100 miles in one day - so I did. I did that several times throughout the years and then I got bored. I discovered weight lifting and enjoyed the benefits that the weights brought me. Then I discovered running. Now, I am still not sure that I enjoy running, but I have completed 4 marathons over the years. This past year I completed my fourth marathon - only to realize that I did not lose a single pound of weight in all of that training. To look at me, most people would say I am in great shape - and physically speaking, I guess I am, but something is missing for me. I want to LOOK like an athlete. See, in my mind - throughout the years- I believed what people told me - that since I was exercising so much, I could eat and drink whatever I wanted. Well, since turning 40, I realize now that it is not true. Now I am focused on eating right, exercising to gain muscle, to build that athletic figure that I know I can be!!

ANNEMARGAR Awake before the alarm this morning - heading to my home gym for an abs, back and bicep workout.

Inquiring minds! well actually doing really well but I have been on and off again so not really on the SAD. I seem to be having better recovery too.

I'm hanging in there. I lose almost half a pound and so will take it but need to stick to my plan starting today! I'm planning in having a good weekend and my energy back but that is because DH is away. I need to figure out sleep again as we had to turn the extra room into a study for son. I don't snore. He does. emoticon
