Keep Your Focus

My attention to exercise really began in college when I started cycling. To me, to be a real cyclist, I had to ride 100 miles in one day - so I did. My attention to exercise really began in college when I started cycling. To me, to be a real cyclist, I had to ride 100 miles in one day - so I did. I did that several times throughout the years and then I got bored. I discovered weight lifting and enjoyed the benefits that the weights brought me. Then I discovered running. Now, I am still not sure that I enjoy running, but I have completed 4 marathons over the years. This past year I completed my fourth marathon - only to realize that I did not lose a single pound of weight in all of that training. To look at me, most people would say I am in great shape - and physically speaking, I guess I am, but something is missing for me. I want to LOOK like an athlete. See, in my mind - throughout the years- I believed what people told me - that since I was exercising so much, I could eat and drink whatever I wanted. Well, since turning 40, I realize now that it is not true. Now I am focused on eating right, exercising to gain muscle, to build that athletic figure that I know I can be!!

Aaaarrgh right now it feels like 1 step forward 2 back.. I know in my head my body is still settling in the new regime of getting more protein less carbs and I can only say by end of next week if it is working or not. But I would love to see results

BTW D. is my friend (initial) not my daughter.... She is a dear friend whom I have known for 17+ years who is suffering from cancer for the last 10 years.

Please do pray for her
1. for healing
2. for the right decision where to go for further treatment.
3. For successful fund raising

Thanks. I am interested in the book and I may get it some time - BUT, I know that I can only handle so many goals at once. I did already remind myself in the mornings of some of the goals that I now dropped.
