Lord, help me to believe in You more deeply.
Guide me to find You, so my soul may rejoice
Teach me to love You, so that I may draw up a real joy and meaning in my dull life.
Inform my heart about the truth of Your Holy Gospel, of Your Resurrection.
Enlighten me by the light of Your real knowledge.
Come, in the way You know best. Visit me, so I may obtain Your unique and deep peace.
Attract me to Your Love, so I may overcome my selfishness, my egoism, and little by little to throw away all my passions (evil desires and compulsions) and weaknesses.
~From *The Struggle in Christ in the Apostasy of our Times* translated by Dim. S. Lyssikatos, and originally written by an anonymous monk at the Holy Monastery of St. Gregorios, Mt. Athos, Greece
1. Grow stronger in my faith.
2. Learn to live a healthy life style that I can stick with for the rest of my life.
3. Gradually get down to a healthy weight.
4. Make new friends and keep the old (my old Girl Scout training peeking through)!
Started the hCG protocol on 7/26/10
Update 9/30/2012: Lately I have been alternating between hCG and Paleo/Primal. I have decided to make my food journal public, but I do not wish to be taken as an example of what to eat, nor would I appreciate negative comments. I am doing the best I can after much thoughtful deliberation on my own personal situation.
I'm Ruth Ann from Wisconsin.
I am a 50-something happily married wife, mom, and grandma. We have three kids; our oldest is married and the mother of our four adorable grandchildren
I've been a stay-at-home mom (and homeschooled for 4 years). After working as an assistant Montessori preschool teacher, I am now subbing at a local Lutheran Preschool.
I joined Spark People because I had been steadily gaining weight for several years now -- I couldn't believe how big I'd gotten! With the help of God and Spark People I'm finally starting to turn things around. At my age, the progress is slow, but it's better than continuing to gain weight. I keep reminding myself: patience is a virtue!
You can now find me on Facebook: -- sparkmail me for my name on Facebook.
I became an Orthodox Christian in 2001. Here is the website of the most wonderful community I have ever experienced -- my Church:
