Took me awhile to figure out that, even though weight loss is the desired end result, it is useless and unreliable as a source of motivation to keep going: I now reward myself for eating well! And it's working!
I have over 100 lbs. to lose.
My reasons: My daughter Ellinor, my husband Ryan... but mostly me!
I am a former vegan, I love poker, walking, parks, animals. Stay at home mom/freelance illustrator.
Currently very interested in JUICE!
first, most urgent things:
eat under 1800 calories every day.
Juice for micronutrients
do my upcoming 2 5ks in under 55 mins and then under 50 mins.
GET MY BMI UNDER 40!
Long term goals are:
I want to be a healthy BMI
I aim to lose 100+ pounds (so 160 or less!)
Be the best mom I can be!
Enjoy things like swimming, bike riding, scuba/snorkling...
Get fit enough to try new things like rock climbing, zip linging and surfing!
I am interested in one day becoming a runner... for now: I will become a really great walker.
Get more illustration gigs!
save up for a house
Stay within my calorie range.
Juice for breakfast and afternoon snack. Lunch = lean high protein + complex carb, Dinner = animal protein + lots of cooked veg.
For now: limit grains, no sugar, no processed food, no caffeine.
Keep this up for as long as possible!
Avoid Gluten more...
eat more protein.
drink 8 glasses of water/day.
Manage thyroid and iron levels.

I have a BFA and in the past, I have studied at digital media studios as well as the Institute of Holistic Nutrition.
I was vegan for 7 years, but it wasn't right for my body :(
Just like most people on this site, I'm sure: I have read A LOT of books on nutrition and weight loss. there's lots of ideas out there, but now, i've changed my focus: I'm looking inward and finding what works for me.
