Vulneratus non Victus

My Irish family motto, Vulneratus non Victus, means "wounded, not broken" and that is exactly what I am. Once a fit professional and champion Irish Step Dancer, I suffered an injury that forced me to stop dancing forever. I became depressed and let myself go, climbing to 241 pounds after a few years. Once a fit professional and champion Irish Step Dancer, I suffered an injury that forced me to stop dancing forever. I became depressed and let myself go, climbing to 241 pounds after a few years. I then lost 43 pounds in two and a half months. I felt amazing. But that particular diet that was just not a reasonable life change. I kept that weight off for almost a year. Then, my best friend was killed in a tragic accident and I led myself into depression and let myself go again. I gained back all the weight I had lost plus a lot more. I am now at my highest weight of 299 and I'm 5'5". My goal weight is 140 to 150, but I'd be happy being 180 or less. I want to feel confident enough in my body that I don't try to cover myself up. I don't want to avoid attending my favourite vintage events because I'm embarrassed about how I look and because I can't fit into vintage clothing. I want to be comfortable being naked around by boyfriend of 4 years. Even though my ankle injury will forever prevent me from returning to the stage, I want to be able to Irish Step Dance again for fun and fitness. I'm 23 years old and I need to live my life!
