This has been a terrible year. I'm focusing on recovery and just trying to survive.

July 3, 2011:
I have maintained my weight loss from a year ago, but still have 20 lbs to go. I've lost 30.2 pounds since May of 2010. I've run a 5K and a Triathlon. I'd like to run a 10K, 1/2 marathon and maybe even a full marathon. I'd also like to compete in two triathlons. I found a swimming club to join and I'm excited for the last half of the year.

July 16, 2010:
I have changed my goals after losing 62 lbs since December 2009. I am now in a healthy BMI and I have less than 40 lbs to go so I am setting goals that are built on my early weight loss achievements but start from when I started adding exercise into my weight loss program (May 9th, 2010). Since then, I have lost 24 lbs and close to 14 inches all over, and I went from a size 16 to an 8! I can run 3 miles (9:30 min/miles is the current personal best), swim 2800 meters, and spin for an hour. I am looking to build in stregth training other than my 18 pound lifts at home (picking up my baby...lol). I am always looking for SparkFriends and I love reading blogs.

BACKGROUND:
I am the proud mother of two, one who is 4 years old and a 7-month old. I gained 90 pounds during my first pregnancy and I lost all 90 plus 20 more over a year and it was perfect. Then, I gained back 35 lbs while finishing my degree, moving to Houston and starting a new job. Next, we decided to have another child... and 65 MORE pounds later my second daughter was born. Now, I am determined to get back to where I was after the first child.

I was born and raised in Michigan. Yuck, snow! I recently moved to Houston, finished my graduate degree and started a new job. I have always been known for taking too much on in life. I look forward to slowing things down a bit.

    Great job on the 10 miles!

    As far as San Antonio, I'll be running the Half. It'll be just my 2nd Half with my first one being in Tulsa in November of last year. I did a 2 min run/1 min walk that time. But, I plan on running this Half!

    Thanks for the tip about the gum! I do love to chew gum, but am a little afraid to try chewing & running at the same time. But, I might give it a try!!! I need to get this back under control!

    I have my long run in the morning...6 miles. I'm hoping for no stitches!

    Thanks for the follow up info on your doctor's appointment, I appreciate it! I might be lightheaded when I get out of bed in the morning, and it takes a long time for my body to warm up to getting out of bed. I have to take deep breaths to kind of wake it all up. But other than that, throughout the day I'm not dizzy or lightheaded much. My hubby's theory is that it is from lack of sleep, so when I do sleep, I go into hibernation like a bear. *LOL* The other morning my pulse was in the 30's, which was kind of scary! I took it three different ways to make sure I was reading it correctly. I guess its just a mystery for now. I haven't weighed yet this month, but will next week. We shall see what happens! I'm also hoping that after 6 months post-partum my body will kick in gear too. I'm doing cardio about 5 days a week (running) and am always in a calorie deficit based on the reading from my Bodybugg, so we shall see!

    Thanks for the encouragement and the information! Yes, please let me know what the cardiologist says tomorrow. I'm super interested in hearing his take on it. I hope to turn a corner at 6 months, but I am still concerned about this heartrate thing.
