Battling the Butterfly

The thyroid is a butterfly shaped master gland located in the front of the neck that controls a bunch of fun biological functions, but especially the metabolism. My Goals:
I would like to get down to 130 pounds by April 1, 2011. I will reevaluate whether I should aim for a bit lower (perhaps 125) or work to maintain at that time. My goal is to lose on average a pound a week (I had my goal date as March 1 a while ago. This was because I had an epic failure to do math!)

Fitness goals: Complete either a full or half marathon in January 2011 for Team in Training. Waiting to see whether or not training for a full 26.2 would be safe (if my coaches say it probably isn't I'll train for a half).

Life Goals:

Pass New Jersey and New York bars. I sat New Jersey in July but for various reasons, I don't feel that great about it. However, there is no harm if I didn't pass, so I am studying hard to prepare for February!

My Program:
1. Track my calories each day on Spark People

2. Run three days a week

3. Do two full body weight workouts a week (split into two upper body days and two lower body days)

4. Yoga whenever can fit it in.

Food: We keep kosher and I count my calories.
Pets: I had the most lovely dream that I finally had a cat again last night. :(
Job: My job is to not go mad while I look for a job.

Hi! I am also struggling with Hashimotos and have just come out of a bad year of craziness! I am working on a gluten free & dairy free diet and this is helping tremendously! I have also added a good quality multi vitamin and super B complex. Next Vitamin D. I too struggle with the lack of energy to meal plan. It has gotten even more frustrating with the gluten & dairy free stuff.

I wish you well and hope that we can support each other!
