On my way down the scale to a healthier lifestyle!!

I found SparkPeople on August of 2008, when I stepped on the scale and realized I was at my heaviest point ever (even when I was pregnant)! Time to get down to business! I lost my dad at the age of 55, and that scared the living daylights out of me! I could get hit by a bus tomorrow, but I want to know that I did everything that I could to take care of myself and live a healthy lifestyle. For not only me, but my kids and husband.

My Goals:
1. Eat off of a salad plate for dinner (it's the one meal I overeat).
2. Drink lots of water...it's my choice of drink.
3. Workout AT LEAST three times a week, strength and cardio.
4. 25 crunches.
5. Measure myself 2 times a month.
6. Weigh once a week.
7. 25 wall squats with ball
8. 25 pushups with ball

My Program:
TURBO FIRE!!! LOVE IT! I hate when I miss workout. We got a new basketball goal for Christmas 2011 and so we spend a lot of time outside (weather permitting) shooting the basketball. I had lost 9lbs (fluctuating between 9 and 15lbs lost)since I joined SP. I joined WW on Jan. 23, 2013 and so far, it's been successful. Up to this point, I have lost 17lbs more lbs. Going strong and have no intentions of stopping there!!! :-)

Personal Information:
My name is Amy and I am 39 years old. I have 3 beautiful children ages 10, 9, and 7 and a wonderful husband of 14 years (Phew!) on Sept 24th. My father passed away 9 years ago with diabetes and heart disease. It has terrified me so much it makes me think about things in a whole new perspective.


Other Information:
I love being with my family, reading, playing in my yard (yes, yardwork), and getting outdoors. Love spring and fall, and hearing the laughter of my children. LOVE to cook! I am a 3rd shifter, so sleep isn't 2nd nature to me, and I'll take it when I can get it, but I love it!!!

What in the world would I do without you???!! Thank you for all your support and motivation. Just hearing from you cheers me up and makes me feel like I can do this!! I not only need to do this for me but I need to do this for my family too.

Sorry your work schedule has gotten all messed up :( I'm sure your body will adjust in a while and hopefully you will be doing good again. That's hard to deal with though!

I would LOVE for you to come see me!!! If you ever get the chance you should! We would have so much fun. I know it would be great if we lived closer....but at least we have each other virtually :) I'm here to cheer you on every step of the way!! I know what you mean about doing WW on line. I did that too. I didn't get very far. It definitely makes a difference when you have to be accountable to someone else. It's too embarrassing to get on that scale and have someone see if you have lost or not. Sure hate paying the $10 a week though :( If going to the weigh ins is what helps you, then you should get back to it. But, I think you look amazing and are doing a fabulous job!!!

Hey Lady!!! Thank you for reading my 5K blog. It was SO exciting. The atmosphere of the Color Run is just fabulously exciting and laid back. I'm doing another one in October in my hometown. It's really exciting to hear you will be doing the Color Run in October too!!!! YAAAYYYY!!!

Amy, I want to thank you so much for your support. I have read every word. I'm really not at a point where I want to talk about it. I am doing the best I can each day with eating and exercise. I have stayed off the scale so I don't have the added pressure. The good thing is I have a year of good habits helping to prop me up. I may not be perfect, but I'm not on a full scale blow out either.

Hello my dear friend! Glad to hear from you :) How was your weekend away with your hubby?! Hope there was lots of R&R (relaxation and romance :)) LOL!
The weather here has been nice one day and then freezing the next! I need some sunshine and warmth!!
When do your kids get out of school? Mine go until June 5. I can't believe how fast the year has gone. My daughter starts middle school in the fall too!! I can't believe it! I am SOOOO NOT ready for that. She just seems too young :(

I am so thankful every day for your friendship! You have no idea how much you mean to me. Some days you are the only thing that keeps me going....just knowing that you are there and you care :) One of these days, we will get together and meet! We will make sure of it!! I know we will have a blast too :)
Thanks for ALWAYS being there for me....I don't know what I would do without you!
