A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I saw THE SPARK online at Amazon and bought it on impulse. I read the whole book cover to cover and here I am. I finally decided to get busy and begin my own Spark program. I was a the Doctor and her scale diagnosed me at as a hefty 192 pounds and I am 5' 3". I knew I had become extremely inactive, and I felt guilty about that. I needed a change, so I came here. That was several years ago, and I have been coming and going ever since. Now I am more determined than ever to make a go of things.
--Consume a healthy, balanced, healthy diet, low in fat and tasty without refined flour or sugar.
--Make at least 10,000 steps a day (just starting out at this point) on my fitbit. Doing this by walking, biking and doing aerobic exercise.
--Come to Spark to commune with others with similar goals for fellowship and friendship.
Since beginning in January of 2016, I started at 202 pounds, now I am at 166 pounds as of 9-4-16. I eat no white foods: Flour, sugar or potatoes. I eat lots of fruit and vegetables, no cheese, 3 cups of skim milk a day, a moderate amount of lean protein, and as little fat as possible. I use a fitbit, and have just begun exercising--walking, biking and dancing aerobically daily. I target for at least 10 K steps per day.s
I'm from Bolingbrook, Illinois, I was raised in the area, and have lived here my whole life. I'm not married, never have been. I have no children, but I have a niece and a nephew, who are my pride and joy. I also have a kitty: my big boomer, Brego Yoder.
I have several challenges to overcome. I have bipolar disorder. I am in recovery from alcohol addiction, sober since 10-21-2006. I have tumors in my abdominal cavity which are inoperable which cause chronic pain, which is being managed medically. I do my best to accept these conditions as best I can: Life on life's terms. One day at a time is the only way to go.

During my morning mediation and prayer time, I realized something very important......ATTITUDE. Do I truly have an Attitude of Gratitude? It's time for me to realize that my ATTITUDE toward the life I'm living and the people in it can have a tangible,. measurable and profound effect on what happens to me day by day. If I expect good, then surely good will come to me. If I try to each day to base my attitude and point of view on a spiritual foundation, I know it will change all the circumstances of my life for the better. Through daily communion with God my spirituality will be maintained.
During this month of November which celebrates THANKSGIVING may you and I remember to have an Attitude of Gratitude.......and may we continue to have it 365 days a year!
