Becoming the Woman I know I Can Be, One Day at a Time

Hello there! This isn't my first time around on Spark, but it's good to feel like I'm starting out fresh again. Sometimes we lose track of what our goals are, and for 4 months I ate, ate, and ATE. Literally, I was spending $80/wk on food just for me - NO NUTRITIONAL benefits in the food I was consuming, and I ended up gaining 20lbs (5/month). That was my wake-up call!

Hello there! This isn't my first time around on Spark, but it's good to feel like I'm starting out fresh again. Sometimes we lose track of what our goals are, and for 4 months I ate, ate, and ATE. Literally, I was spending $80/wk on food just for me - NO NUTRITIONAL benefits in the food I was consuming, and I ended up gaining 20lbs (5/month). That was my wake-up call!

What started as a "Biggest Loser" competition at work, has become a new lifestyle for me. I started off a month (Aug) ago at 282, and I'm now down to 263 (Sept), I'm excited to see what October brings to my waistline! I've begun JOGGING (can you believe that!?!), around this beautiful lake in my backyard. Of course, it's a 80% walk/20% jog ratio, but still! I can jog for a minute straight - I'm PROUD of my accomplishment!

There is a GRAND PRIZE for the person who loses the most weight percentage, but even if I don't - I'm glad to have begun this journey back to good health. I'm cheering myself on, everyday, because that's just how I roll!

Thanks for the Add. Hope you enjoy the SparkGoodie. I totally agree with you about food with low nutritional value. I've come to believe a small handful of nuts truly is the better snack... even though it's more calories... it's important to get BENEFIT (nutrition) from the calories! Debby (cylib1)
