Getting back in the tracking mode

Update 1/28/13 - did my first half-marathon in September but still haven't achieved my goal weight. Gained 12 pounds between 10/20/12 and now. Yikes. Sugar addiction strikes again. Am finally getting it back under control. Am playing tennis at least 3x a week ususally between 6 and 12 hours a week. Love it. Am still running but not as many miles. am getting back to it slowly. Still average at least 9 (usually 11-14) miles a week. Have been terrible about tracking my food. Really must get back ...

This is the year I reach my goal weight!

Update 6/14/12 - Started half-marathon training on May 27th. Signed up for the half on September 16th! I'm sure I'm crazy but lovin' it.
Update 4/4/12 - Still working on weight goal. Am playing tennis 3 days a week and running 3 days. I do the elliptical on my day off. I do strength training on running days, upper on Tuesday, lower on Thursday, abs on both andfull body on Sunday. I used to do more strength but think this is working well for now. I try to build speed by running a few fast minutes on Tuesdays, my long run is on the weekend. I do the Jeff Galloway run/walk method and it's been good to me. It's been a bit over a year and I haven't gotten burned out or injured. I love running and I love tennis more. I would play more but I think it's good to use other muscles on alternate days.
I am planning to run a race every month until Nov. or Dec. I may try a half-marathon in the fall. ( I've signed up for it on June 1st!) I really love having such wonderful sparkfriends. You keep me motivated. What a great site!

Hi, I'm from Illinois and working on getting fit. I just recently got back to playing tennis and have been exercising a lot. I'm trying to track my food as much as possible. I put this weight on in the last 2 years(mostly) and would like to get rid of it now that I can move around better and am no longer on drugs for my lupus. (especially prednisone - it's wicked) I want to lose weight before I get "bad" again. (Hopefully, I'll keep getting better!!) My first timed 5K in 8 years in the spring. I will start to get in "running shape". (walk/jog more like)
Update: I have done a 5k every month since March and a 4 miler in July. Working for a 10k in September and getting my race times a bit faster. Maybe a sprint tri next summer or fall! Did a 10k in September and a 5k in October. Love to run and play tennis.

My Goals:
Lose 70 lbs by June 16th (re-revised from last year Nov.)Originally June 25, 2011). Exercise consistently.(am doing this) Run some 5Ks again.(have run 10-5ks and two 4 milers and one 10k( in 2011 ) New goals - run a 10mile and do a 5k under 37 min. Play tennis regularly(am playing at least twice, usually 3x a week).Take more hikes and bike rides(have done a few and spinning class). Thank God andEnjoy having so much less pain(do this every day). Track food at least 4 days a week.(very inconsistent these days)

My Program:
Eat 7-9 fruits and veggies a day. Track my food on Spark. Do Beck and Use South Beach plan. Exercise at least 5 days a week. Play tennis.
Goals 1st 25 by Oct. 31(-25) (done)
2nd 15 by (40) Mar. 7 (done) 1 wk late
Massage (done)
3rd 10 by Apr. 30(-50) Done! Aug 5th new shoes(tennis)
4th 5 by Mar. 5, 2012 (-55) new tennis outfit

Personal Information:
I have a wonderful husband, 3 daughters and a spoiled dog.
I feel so good, I thank God every day!
My lupus has calmed down for now and right now I'm doing better than I have been for at least 10 years. Was on wicked drugs (especially high doses of prednisone) on and off for many years. Gained so much weight. Am finally getting back into some of those old clothes!! Woohoo!

Other Information:
I love tennis (playing and watching).I love running more every day. I enjoy playing the piano and the guitar. I like to read books and travel.

So sorry to have taken such a long time to your comment on my page. Yes, I would love to have a diet buddy. It does look like we have similar weight loss goals. I've been not tracking for a while because I got discouraged that my weight would just not move for weeks. Now, it looks like it is finally moving in a good direction again. I really need to get back to tracking and learning more on spark. I noticed on your page that you are a runner and have completed at least on half marathon. That is fantastic! I've been running (again) since last February. I have a goal of running in at least one race a month. Right now I'm training for my first 10K. I'm really excited because I'm in the taper phase -- the race is in 1 1/2 weeks and I'm ready. I'm not fast, but I'm confident I'll be able todo the distance. I'm also training for my first half marathon in September. Let me know how you are doing.
