A Healthy New Me

In March 2013, I had gotten sick of being unhealthy. I was unenergetic, stressed, and felt...well...fat. I decided to do something about it, so I joined Sparkpeople. My goal, instead of getting "skinny" was to become healthier and feel better.

Since then, I've come a long way! I have tons more energy, feel less stressed, and truly appreciate my body. I've found the joy of making creative and healthy meals, which has really helped me stay on track.

I've been maintaining since June 2014. I'm quite happy with the way my body now looks and feels, so my goal now is to learn how to maintain and eat intuitively.

Current Status:
BANANAMAG I put the baby down for a nap before realizing the baby monitor is totally not functional. Luckily, she's a sound sleeper, so I cracked the door after a half hour. Absolute quiet is key!

My Goals:
Maintain a weight between 137 and 143, with my goal weight being 140.

Trust myself when I feel that I can let go of certain "rules" that I created while losing weight.

Track all food at least 5 days a week.

Relax and enjoy myself when in social eating situations. At the same time, don't overeat to the point I am no longer enjoying my food or the way my body feels.


My Program:
I take a bootcamp class on Mondays and Fridays that mixes weight training and cardio. I also do "at-home bootcamp" on Wednesdays. Each of these are about an hour long.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are my recovery days. I do cardio exercises for about 40 minutes. I do a few of Jessica Smith's walking workouts, as well as some kickboxing and HIIT.

Saturdays are my rest days. I take a gentle yoga class to help stretch my body and clear my mind.

Sundays are a bit more intense cardio days, with about 50 minutes of exercise. I'm currently doing a HIIT workout and a Jessica Smith walk on Sundays.

Personal Information:
I'm from Michigan, and I have been married since December 2010. We have a sweet doggie named Winter who is the light of my life. My husband and I are currently trying to start a family!

Yup! They did that! It was pretty unbelievable. I actually did that...then went to workout immediately after because I needed to do something. :-) BUT ANYWAYS, I'm glad you've got plans on staying on here a while! As do I! I'm glad I've found Sparkpeople! It's been SO useful! :-) Hope you have a fantastic day!

The crazy thing is, I got pregnant with BOTH of my little girls 2 weeks after I stopped taking birth control pills! I don't know why the first time I stopped taking them messed me up for so long. Weird! So yes, don't be discouraged because it's a common thing! =)

I didn't end up really being hungry until about 9pm last night. So, I ended up with kind of a weird snack to fit into my nutrient ranges I had left. Pineapple, pretzels, and a hard boiled egg. It was oddly satisfying, so it worked out, haha. I did go over my calories again today, but I will definitely be better tomorrow :) I did go grocery shopping today and walked a lot, so it sort of makes up for it?
