In all our travels to Florida, I have enjoyed the Hobe Sound/ Jupiter area where my cousin lives the most...if feels like home to me. Far enough down to be always warm, close to the water and not far from major attractions-but not where relatives would drop in and out to see Mickey.
A short drive to the beaches or just go to the pool.
If hurricanes come, drive away or hunker down behind storm shutters.
I had a blog just before Christmas with pictures of her area.
I've been to St Pete's Beach a few times, Daytona, Palm Coast, Tampa, Key West, Miami area several times and of course, Orlando.

Thanks so much for the goodie! One of my favorite authors was Tony Hillerman and I was so sad when he passed away. His daughter has taken up the tradition and written one book so far, building on his characters. I like it a lot actually. Because I lived for years and years in New Mexico, I knew so well the Indian reservation he had for a setting and he also mentioned places sometimes like Gallup, Shiprock, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, etc. From what I read he stuck very close to the Navajo customs, even though the characters were fictional. And his books followed a theme and built on those same characters as the main ones. I also like both Jonathon and Faye Kellerman, and a whole host of others. When I was in the 8th grade Perry Mason books was one of my favorites but I've kind of gotten past those now LOL. I read almost all of them. What are some of your favorite authors. There are a lot of others I just can't think of at the moment

I loved Vero Beach area. My cousin lives in Hobe Sound, I visit her frequently. I'd move there in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the comment on my friend feed about weight loss. I think it was the hiking but also now that I've been in my own apartment for 2 weeks I'm eating much better than at my son's house or in the hospital or back home in New Mexico with my daughters and grandkids living with me LOL! I'll take it no matter what!
Hope you have a great day!

Thanks for the information. It seems I'm right on track and can bail when I cry "uncle".
Just depends on when I want to go.
