Thank you for commenting on my blog. Alas, the Y pool is pretty tightly regulated with swim teams, lessons, family swim, lap lanes. On quiet nights, it is possible to do water exercises in a lap lane if it is free. But usually lap lanes are shared by at least two people at a time. Bike riding really helps a lot. I know it doesn't make much sense with back pain, but the part of the back that is affected gets stretched long on the push down.
