Still climbing after all these years

Welcome to my little corner of the Spark universe. I'm not sure if I'm still climbing or starting to climb again. It doesn't matter. Life is a journey, and every day starts with a single step (and hopefully adds up to over 10,000 on my Spark activity tracker). The friends I've met on SparkPeople are the best part of the journey.

After many years of taking care of others, it's now time to take care of myself. I quit dieting several years ago. While it hasn't gone all that well, dieting didn't either. Step by step I've managed to make major changes to my diet over the years. I believe these changes will gain momentum and I will feel better, lose weight and improve my health.

I am an over-50 father of one. I lost my wife to cancer in 2014 after an 11 year battle with the disease. I live and work in the Seattle area.

HI Brian !! TY SO MUCHERS for ur very kind comment. I just LOVE SPARKS !!! It works for one, if they work it. to me,, when I read the SPARKs ! (BOOK) it ALL CLICKED !! I had been stuck at 265 after being at my highest of 288.

Now thanks to tracking my food,,, doing the very little exercise I can do (last week,,, was put on a 2 month complete bed rest,,, Dr is DETERMINED that I NOT lose my left big toe) I AM Finding SUCCESS as ARE YOU !! WOW R U EVER !!! We are VERY PLEASED with how you did !! SO HAPPY that you are ALSO Brian.

HOPE You stay with us into the Break,,, and than join us in the WINTAH Challenge,, that's ALWAYS FUN as we PULL the sled thru the Tundra,,,, or else we head for FL !! LOL
