Getting it done before I turn 60

(07/23/2014) Lately I've been reading fashion for 50+ blogs, and they're making me a little jealous. It must be so nice to be between 50 and 60 and still able to wear clothes that look good, instead of just throwing on whatever happens to fit enough to cover the ol' bod.

Not only do these blog writers dress attractively, but they also have much more active lives than I do at the moment.

I want to have that kind of a life too. I even watched a YouTube video of an 80-year old woman in a dance contest! I may not be able to dance like she does, but I sure would like to be spry enough at that age to think I could.

I'll be 58 in about a month, and would like to be in much better shape by the time I turn 60, so I need to, as Emeril says, "kick it up a notch" and get it done.

It starts today.

(08/24/2013) I turned 57 a week ago, which means my 50s are almost in the rearview mirror, with 60 approaching fast.

I've gotten to the point where I accept my size, and don't hate myself because of it now, but I would really PREFER to be smaller, just because it's easier to get around, fit into chairs and cars and bathroom stalls.

I also want to retain my independence and mobility as I get older--and I could really use some more energy too--so here I am, ready to see if I can lighten myself up a little.

Aw! thanks for picnic basket... the red and white cloth ! Favorite colors.

Hope you are getting into a good routine and looking forward to all the good that baby steps will do for you.

Had to zip around the house this evening to pack hubby's bag, find his alarm clock in the back of a dusty pick up truck along with other missing things... he is disorganized to the max!

I hope you have the best week ever and problems will just fly over your head and miss you completely!

When I get aggravated, I try to go for a walk or clean house with vigor to burn off the edge of the anger.

I hope you are learning new ways to combat stress that don't involve eating food.

My birthday is on Monday and I must be old as I don't want anything.

Just dropping by to say hello, Sparkfriend! Remember, you don't have to be perfect on this journey in order to make progress! As long as you keep trying...and never quit...you are already a success! Keep doing your best, because you are worth the effort!
Hugs,

"Part of abandoning the all-or-nothing mentality is allowing yourself room for setbacks.
We are bound to have lapses on the road to health and wellness, but it is critical that we learn how to handle small failures positively so that we can minimize their long-term destructive effects.
One setback is one setback...it is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you."

Thank you! Your page is so pretty too!

Congrats on the 10 lbs down, that's quite an accomplishment. 10 lbs is HARD. I keep thinking it will get easier if I get a few lbs behind me but it doesn't. Hang in there, you are going to AMAZE yourself!!
