It's time to get serious.
I've been sort of half-hearted trying to lose weight. Now it's time to really buckle down. I've stayed pretty much steady, but I'd like to see some of it go away. Which means I'll have to start moving more than what I do at work. There's so many times I can fit a few minutes of exercise in but I don't. Time to get off my lazy butt.

My Goals:
1. Lose at least one inch off my waist, abdomen and hips by January 31 2. Lose 8 pounds by the end of January 3. Be more attentive to my eating habits, both in portion control and what I eat.
My Program:
1. I'm trying to watch what I eat better, so I can indulge in what I love (banana splits!) once in a while without feeling guilty. 2. I'm trying to be more active. Being in school means a lot of computer work, so I have to make an effort to move. My 2 year old granddaughter is good at helping me do that! 3. Drink more water and less diet pepsi. 4. Remember I have a wedding coming up next year and I want to fit in my dress.
Personal Information:
I live in Minnesota, have three living children, two sons in law, and three grandchildren. I'm a registered nurse on a general surgery floor and am getting my master's degree in nursing education. I love to knit (and crochet), read, listen to music, and spend time with my husband.
Other Information:
I have been a fan of Dick Francis's mysteries for years. In his book Straight, there is a quote that I try to emulate: May I deal with honour, may I act with courage, may I achieve humility. I think it's a great way to try to live.
