Welcome to my page

I began using Sparkpeople in 2009. I had lost weight successfully with Weight Watchers, but was tired of that program and felt like I needed more tools.

I've come back here a few times and am hoping this new start as of November 2015 will be the one that takes me to where I'd like to be: comfortable with myself and my weight, liking myself, and healthy.

I've come back here a few times and am hoping this new start as of November 2015 will be the one that takes me to where I'd like to be: comfortable with myself and my weight, liking myself, and healthy.

For many years, I've struggled with emotional eating as well as depression, where I lost a significant amount of weight. I have had several years of grief and loss in my life and am in the process of recovering from the toll that several critical events have taken on me, including a traumatic brain injury. I'm pleased that this place has so many resources and positivity! Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yeah, the pacers in tuxedo t-shirts and black shorts was a nice touch for a women's only half marathon. The medals were a little over the top with tiaras on them and a bit sparkly. But it was definitely a fun day!

You described Depression beautifully. I too have suffered deeply with severe clinical depression and my last bout was about 4/5 years ago. I remember the feeling that I would never get better, the changing of meds, the helplessness and the weight loss. I don't eat when depression strikes either. It is a horrible disease and I totally understand what you went through. Now is the time to be healthy and you are doing the journey. I got your back sistah! Hugs, fredie

I love this information about Grief. Yes, it is seemingly hard work and I know I need to go through it to get to the other side. One thing about grief, it hurts. But as my friend Mary just wrote on my blog today, I am one day closer to comfort. Sending you loads of hugs, fredie

Thanks for your comment on my blog and for the friend add. I've just added you back. We have more in common than just difficult feet. I left a comment on your April 4th blog.
