I had gained about 16 pounds since 2004. I am very active - I do 2 hours of Water Aerobics 3 times a week and walk 30 minutes briskly three other days of the week (most of the time). I have now lost 15 pounds and love SparkPeople! I enjoy the way I am eating and never feel deprived or hopeless about my progress! My most recent check up showed all of my numbers within range - fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides. My blood pressure and resting heart rate are also down, and I read SparkPeople articles every day for nutrition, fitness, and motivation. I still need to add resistance exercise to my fitness program. I am learning to eat differently since the middle of December when my doctor suggested that I no longer use milk products. She has now confirmed that I am lactose intolerant. SparkPeople really helps with eating differently!!

My Goals:
I want to walk consistently 3 times a week for 30 minutes, doing stairs as part of my walk.
My Program:
I do Water Aerobics for 2 hours 3 times a week. The first hour, I can do any exercise I want so I stretch, walk and run in place in the water for 30 minutes. I also watch what I eat - no fried food, no white rice, bread, and only an occasional side dish of potatoes. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies and good protein in small amounts.
Personal Information:
I am from Albuquerque, NM and I am retired but keep busy with exercising, lunch/brunch with my friends, visiting my daughter, cooking and housework and attend church regularly. I love my laptop and being able to get such good inormation as on this site.
