2015! A Year To Be Healthy, Happy & Prosperous!

Hello & Welcome! I'm a big fan of Sparkpeople and recently celebrated my seventh year of living a more healthy lifestyle. I have lost 17 pounds since becoming a Sparker, but still have those stubborn extra pounds hanging in there. I am much more active and feel so much better.

I am a 68 year old baby boomer born, raised, and currently living in the "Show-Me State of Missouri", after a twenty year journey as a military wife. I am currently employed full time in the field of rental property management and love being active each day.

I am a proud mother & grandmother. My daughter and granddaughter who live with me, a son and a Daughter In Law that resides in Arkansas with her two grown sons. I am further blessed with a guardian angel son who left us much too early, but will be in our hearts forever.

This quote strongly resonates with me. Every instant of our lives is filled with choice. The better we understand ourselves, the more likely we are to make better choices.

My Goals:
Winterl 2015 5% Challenge Commitment:
Participate in Team Goals & Challenges to motivate me to become more healthy.
Do my Spark strength exercises each a.m. before work.
Make the effort to go on a daily walk. Minimum of 15 minutes.
Strive to reach 8,000 steps daily.
Use the nutrition & fitness trackers daily.

My Program:
1. Drink 8 glasses of water per day.
2. Minimum of 6 fruits and vegetables per day.
3. Practice portion control-Stay within calorie ranges.
4. No Excuses! Do your Daily Exercises.
5. Stay Mindful and in control during evening hours.
6. Don't be an evening couch potato!

Personal Information:
I like to play Bunco and currently play a couple nights a month and enjoy a night of Dominoes with a group of ladies. I enjoy relaxing with a good mystery book and belong to a mystery book club at our local library. I also enjoy our town's Theater and concerts in the Park series during the Summer months. Bowling on a ladies league is a fall/winter activity.

Other Information:
I try to check in with Sparkpeople daily as it keeps me motivated and I enjoy visiting with my Sparkfriends and participating in the challenges that keep me on track. Recently joined our local Lion's Club and enjoy helping the children & adults with their seeing and hearing needs.

emoticon Linda! Think of healthy living as a career. Make goal setting a regular part of your life. Become a permanent participant in sustaining better lifestyle choices. Focus on one goal at a time to become a healthier you. Develop an action plan for each goal and finish what you start. Each positive change will lead you to better results. You CAN and WILL turn your GOALS into the results that you are striving for! Have a beautiful and blessed week.

Thanks for stopping by my feed. It is always good to see you "pop up" on my page. I saw the COPD team and have joined. I am doing well and have my medications down to two for the COPD. Woohoo. Exercise helps!
