Welcome to my Spark home

Welcome to my Spark page. I am 63 years old and a retired speciaI education teacher (non categorical preschool).
My husband and I have a 3 year old rescue beagle named Buster. He is a bundle of energy and makes us laugh. He has eerily similar traits that we saw in our last 2 rescue beagles. He's very sweet and lots of fun for us.
Our daughter, husband and her 3 children (my adorable grandchildren) live about 25 minutes from us. They also have an old rescue beagle. I am so ...

Our daughter, husband and her 3 children (my adorable grandchildren) live about 25 minutes from us. They also have an old rescue beagle. I am so fortunate to see them a lot. They are my sunshine!!
Our son is married to a great woman. They have his rescue beagle (see a pattern in our family?) and her two cats. They live about 10 minutes from us but are looking for a larger place! Hopefully, they won't move too far!
I joined Spark in December 2009 and, like everyone, life has thrown me some curves as well as blessed me in many ways! Although I struggle with consistency, my main struggle seems to always be with exercise. It seems I do fine for awhile and then I get off track. I always go back to the basics but it does get discouraging.
I'm trying to focus on being a healthy me with the energy to have fun with my family!

Hi Beth, thanks for reading my blog. It so helps to have your support! Cleaning my bathroom wasn't really too bad because its small. Doing the tabata gives you energy once you are over the initial exhaustion!

Have a GREAT weekend!

He is holding his own for now. Doing better than he was but he still may not make it. He doesn't need any more problems. The pneumonia plus the G.I. problems are too much combined. The poor little guy loves us and he wants to live. Something needs to go his way. We continue to work hard and pray for him.

I got more sleep though and am feeling a little better. Enough that I can catch up on a few chores that can't be ignored any more.

I was able to get a little sleep so I'm not as emotionally labile. Reekie has done better today. He is so unstable. I was able to leave between his treatments while he was asleep to get us some food. We were getting very low. The fridge was bare. Thanks for the prayers. We certainly need them. It and the support I get is all that keeps me going.

Reekis is not eating well on his own now but we are syringe feeding him, giving him the meds, and still getting all his treatments down. Benny will fight till the end. I'm wearing down. Reekie has more fight than me actually. Maybe tomorrow I will get more sleep and feel better. Today I'm emotionally spent. I don't ever allow myself to go to dark places for long. You are such a good friend and I love you for it.

The glimmer of hope seems to be fading. I so wish things would turn around but things are staking up against us.
