Welcome to my Spark home

Welcome to my Spark page. I am 63 years old and a retired speciaI education teacher (non categorical preschool).
My husband and I have a 3 year old rescue beagle named Buster. He is a bundle of energy and makes us laugh. He has eerily similar traits that we saw in our last 2 rescue beagles. He's very sweet and lots of fun for us.
Our daughter, husband and her 3 children (my adorable grandchildren) live about 25 minutes from us. They also have an old rescue beagle. I am so ...

Our son is married to a great woman. They have his rescue beagle (see a pattern in our family?) and her two cats. They live about 10 minutes from us but are looking for a larger place! Hopefully, they won't move too far!
I joined Spark in December 2009 and, like everyone, life has thrown me some curves as well as blessed me in many ways! Although I struggle with consistency, my main struggle seems to always be with exercise. It seems I do fine for awhile and then I get off track. I always go back to the basics but it does get discouraging.
I'm trying to focus on being a healthy me with the energy to have fun with my family!

They will be fine. Our sons are neither one young any more and it's time for yours to have a child if they intend to. Older parents are more stable but they don't have the physical stamina that younger parents do. And the risk of birth problems go up as one gets older. It was meant to be. Now is the time. They will manage. Benny and I bough tour house 2 months after we had Ian. LOL.

There are 9 grand daughters and 4 grandsons! I am very blessed at age 57! Unfortunately only 2 live within 1/2 hour of us. The rest are scattered in Kentucky, Las Vegas ( soon to be Italy) and Nebraska! We do see all though at least once a year. Thank goodness for FaceTime- keeps us connected! emoticon

I agree! Being a grand parent is great! I am a grandmother of 13, the youngest just 8 weeks old. emoticon

Hello and thank you for visiting and commenting on the 'white squirrel' blog. This is the second or third white squirrel that has been in my neighborhood over the years. There is a black squirrel that I've seen several times, but haven't gotten a decent picture of. He lives about two miles from my house. I think it's testimony to the lack of predators that these colorations survive to reproduce. Also testimony to the softness of people who can't bring themselves to chase them out of their bird feeders!

Thank you for the support and encouragement you always share on my blogs. We are like minded people and I can't tell you the encouragement that comes from knowing I am not alone in this very educational journey. I'd stay on SP if for nothing else than the personal growth and friends like you!!
