The FURTHER Adventures of DorkBoy

Experiences, that is what it is all about. We are a country founded by amazing experiences and we seem to have lost a little of that. Mirrors where I am in my life. Always a big boy, I spent a year losing 100+ pounds only to gain 50 of it right back. Why? I thought it was my job to inspire, even though I still ahd 80 pounds to reach my own goal. I forgot why I was losing weight and chosing a healthy lifestyle. it was so I could DO those amazing thigns, instead of plan them.

I still plan on running triathlon in 2013. I still plan on biking the century ride next year, but for now I am going to focus on my health and battling this son of a gun 5 pounds at a time.

My Goals:
I historically have overdone this. So let me try to do it right:
Long Term Goal is to live a healthy active lifestyle including triathlon and hiking with my family.

I have created a 40 while 40 list, as my birthday was on March 14th, and one of the goals was 144 pounds by March 13th, 2014.

Short Term Goal is to learn as much as I can about vegetarian life, healthy life choices and to focus my powers on losing 5 pounds at a time and not overreach/overshare

My Program:
I am doing heavy cardio, 5 days a week for now, with 2 days of full body resistance. After four weeks fo this, I will include the C25K, and step up to 3 days of resistance and add Yoga.

I am not dieting, and will eat ice cream, but I am following a 90 / 10 mantra, 90% Eat right 90% of the time so the 10% I chose not to, won't crush my soul!!

Personal Information:
I am a son, father and husband. I work for a credit card company as an analyst / MIS manager. I am really kind of boring.

I love exercise, activity and my family.

Congrats with entering the 200's!!! Here's some swim trunks to help your mind prepare for your triathalon... oh and remember Dori from Finding Nemo's saying..... JUST KEEP SWIMMING, JUST KEEP SWIMMING!!!

Hey thanks for checking in with me! I am totally stressed about the new school year and setting up...but I feel like (for the first time) I am working through my stress--not eating through it! I love your blog about etiquette in Vegas! Cracked me up. When I'm fit and athletic, I'll reward myself with a trip to your neck of the woods--I'll babysit your sweeties so you and your wife can have a night on the town!!

Saw your blog from the team the lighter side. You have great goals set. I know what you mean about 5 pounds at a time. I have been working at it 10 lbs at a time instead of the big number hanging over my head. Hope you are having a great day.
