This time it's for me

In the past few years I injured my leg,got a divorce, moved to Texas and stopped smoking. All these things have impacted my weight to the point that I gained almost 85 pounds in 3 years. I've taken off a little over 15 of that but have quite a way to go.
I have a 32 yr old son, Ryan who is a business analyst/IT project manager in St. Louis, and a 30 yr old daughter, Meridith who is a Director of Finance for a hotel in Beverly Hills. I don't work outside the home, but I am active in ...

I have a 32 yr old son, Ryan who is a business analyst/IT project manager in St. Louis, and a 30 yr old daughter, Meridith who is a Director of Finance for a hotel in Beverly Hills. I don't work outside the home, but I am active in Greyhound rescue and have e of my own, Fred, Exley and Petey who is a rescued whippet. I am madly in love with my DBF whom I call the Bobster.
I recently decided, no more dieting. Just smaller portions of healthy food. I've got aches and pains in my bum knee, my ankles and my hips and I know getting some of the weight off will help that a lot.

My Goals:
I know being overweight impacts my sleep habits, my energy level and my joints. I want to improve in these three areas.

My Program:
Exercise: I walk my dogs at least 45 minutes a day.

I recently invested in the BEST piece of equipment, a water rower, but during the hot weather, water aerobics in my pool is actually not too agonizing!

I have always been a healthy eater. Just ate too much so now I am trying to be conscious of portion sizes. Plan ahead and write it down.

Personal Information:
I am now living in Plano Texas with my 2 greyhounds and 1 whippet and 1 boyfriend.

my email is

bighairtexan@gmail.com

Other Information:
I adore reading, especially mysteries and books that make me smile. Not that much of a television person except for a CNN and Fox News addiction.

I love to travel, especially cruising, and have been on over 50 of them. I want to visit Turkey before I die.

knock knock anyone home. Just checking in to see where you are. I have missed you on the threads on weekly challenges and the 50's team. I had a lot of fun with the ABC grocery list and I like your sense of humor. I hope everything is alright.

That sounds wonderful about the cruise. You did mention it. I just have such a short memory. I am up on Mt. Hood with the relatives. It has been wonderful.

Happy Labor Day Weekend! Enjoy your holiday weekend relaxing, watching some sports, a barbeque maybe and good company.

"Labor Day is a glorious holiday because your child will be going back to school the next day. It would have been called Independence Day, but that name was already taken." (Bill Dodds)
