The Plan

I need to stop derailing myself when it comes to weight loss and fitness. In the last few years, every time I really start to feel the positive effects of physical activity and weight loss, I allow myself to get off plan and backslide. Enough!!

I've wasted a decade of my life being overweight. I was very active well into my late twenties, and a much happier person when I was. I gained weight over time and stopped being involved because of not wanting to draw attention.

My basic plan is to add more activity and to track my food. And not increase my food intake when I increase my activity level!

My Goals:
To stop avoiding mirrors.

To walk a 5K.

To hike a portion of the Appalachian trail.

To get 70,000 steps in a week.

To hike a trail rated difficult.

Get back to One-derland.

To fit into my black warm-up suit that I purchased on-line but have not been able to wear. (It's an XL.)



My Program:
It sounds simple, but it really is my program: add exercise and keep food intake within range.

I'm not going vegan. I'm not going gluten-free or low-carb or vegetarian or Paleo or anything like that.

So, right now the program is to move more. When moving more becomes a little more ingrained and needs regimentation, I'll update the page.



Personal Information:
I live in Media, PA and work in Valley Forge, PA.



Other Information:
I can do anything for 10 minutes! I use that to motivate me when I have to do something I don't want to!

Thanks for the explanation as to why beef is so expensive now! It's amazing how much we're affected by the weather!

I can understand teenage emotions! I have college emotions towards New England. I went to school for a few years in Rhode Island and I now HATE RI, MA and CT. *shudder*

Pocky is Japanese junkfood. It's really not that bad for you as a treat if you eat just a piece or two, but I had an entire 340 calorie box. You're completely right though, I don't even want to think about all the crap I was eating this time last year.
