Just keep Plugging Away

I've been told that I am bull headed and stubborn. Right now I see that as a positive attribute because that is the only thing that just keeps me pushing forward. I won't give up. I'm now 60 and still fighting the same fight - trying to get to a normal weight. As long as I get up more times than I am knocked down then I should be OK.

My Goals:
I ended the Winter Challenge at 202 but in the interval between it and the Spring Challenge I fell off the wagon and gained 2.2 pounds so I am starting the Spring Challenge at 204.2 but I will pick myself up and continue on this journey!!!

04/05/2014 204.2
04/12/2014 202.82
04/19/2014 201.44
04/26/2014 200.06
05/03/2014 198.68
05/10/2014 197.31
05/17/2014 195.94
05/24/2014 194.57
05/31/2014 193.2

June 28 (-1.5/week) 187
July 26 (-1.5/week) 181
Aug 30 (-1.5/week) 173.5
Sept 27 (-1.5/week) 166.5
Oct 25 (-1.5/week) 160.5
Nov 29 (-1.5/week) 153
Dec 27 (-1.5/week) 147

My ultimate goal is to be fit and at a healthy weight (about 140 to 150 - I'm only 5'6" but at 61 I think if I lose much more than that I will start looking haggard) by the end of the year. Averaging a 1.5 to 2 pound loss per week (which is not too fast).

My Program:
I have joined the 2014 Spring 5% Challenge and intend to kick some booty! Mainly my own - into high gear. I have been working out 3 times a week with nothing much in between except my regular house cleaning on Saturday. But I intend to walk on my off days for at least 20 minutes. This should help not only with fitness but also my lagging energy levels.

Personal Information:
My name is Barbara Smith and I live alone in a small condominium in a suburb north of Detroit, Michigan. I am 60 (and a half precisely) years old and work for a neighboring city. I spend my free time sewing, cross stitching, doing all kinds of crafts and DIY projects around my condo.

Other Information:
I love puzzles of all kinds. I also enjoy reading and listening to music and audio books. Also love flowers and plants - both indoor and outdoors - though with condo living I don't have a lot of outdoor area to work with but what I do have I love to fill with colorful flowers.

Thanks for stopping by my page and the HILARIOUS comment about the correlation between my weight loss and my hair! That's really funny! I just noticed the other day that a LOT of woman who were over weight, cut their hair super short after they lost it. I don't know why either... Anyhow, thanks again for stopping by, and keep up the great work you're doing! Best of luck! *HUGS*
