My Challenges from now til forever....

For the Spring BL Black Panthers Challenge - changing my background color in honor of my team :)

This challenge my goals are:

1. Be down at least 8 pounds by the end of the challenge
2. Journal my food every day at least on paper
3. Accumulate at least 120 minutes of activity each and every day
4. Accumulate an average of at least 14,000 steps a day

Each and every one of these goals is do-able and if they are to be , as the saying goes, ...

Each and every one of these goals is do-able and if they are to be , as the saying goes, it is up to me!!!!

Out of the 4 goals my biggest challenges are #1 and # 2. The other two are challenges but nowhere near as challenging as the first two. I never have a problem with being active but because I had a bit of a lapse in my activity minutes starting back in October I am giving it another push for the next 10 weeks.

Here is my ever developing strategy from this day forward and through the challenge:

1. Increase my strength sessions to 30 minutes per session, 3x per week.
2. Carry a small notebook and writing utensil with me to increase the odds of success for item #2 above.
3. Make a point of checking in on my challenge teams on a more regular basis -- at least 3x per week rather than 1 or no time per week.
4. Read and respond to team mates blogs when time permits.
5. Check Friend Feed and respond on a mostly daily basis.
6. Blog at least once a week on how I am progressing.
7. Become more proactive about planning healthy meals - increase from always having a healthy breakfast to planning out healthy lunch, dinner and snack choices at least 5 out of 7 days. Base line as of 3/13/14 : 0 out of 7 planned.
8. Review this set of goals daily.
9. Keep on pushing no matter what!!!

1.Increase my average activity minutes to at least 130 per day.
2. Increase my strength sessions to 35 minutes per session.
3. Follow Spark Solution in conjunction with Change One strategy.
4. Make a point of checking in on my challenge teams on a more regular basis -- at least 3x per week rather than 1 or no time per week.
5. Read and respond to team mates blogs when time permits.
6. Check Friend Feed and respond on a mostly daily basis.
7. Blog at least once a week on how I am progressing.
8. Increase my daily average steps by 1000 per day by the end of the Summer 5% Challenge.
9. Keep on pushing no matter what!!!

My Goals:
My goals are simple:
Exercise consistently and reach a healthy weight.
I am aiming for a variety of exercise including but not limited to walking, Zumba for Wii, Gold Gym workout for Wii, Yoga, Pilates, Tae Bo and lifting weights for strength.

My specific goal is to reach my healthy weight 5 pounds at a time with Tuesday's being my "official" day to track that downward path. Will have other weigh-in days depending on what challenges I am participating in.



My Program:
For my Challenges :
average at least 120 minutes of exercise activity /day.

Include a variety of aerobic exercise, balancing exercises daily and strength training no less than 3x per week for no less than 30 min per session.




Personal Information:
I live in upstate WNY with my husband ,my daughter and her new husband, my son recently out of the Marines, 3 dogs and 1 cat.


Other Information:
I enjoy doing many things including crossword puzzles,Jumbles, playing word games and just plain strategy games on my DS, Sudoku, reading, working with plastic canvas, crocheting, gardening, walking dogs and just plain learning.
