I just turned 63 December 15, 2015. I view this as the most important event of my life so far. A milestone that I wanted to meet with good health. Instead I developed an extremely painful condition in rheumatoid arthritis. I received marvelous medical supervision and showed improvement in the Spring of 2013 and then in 2014. I joined Dances for a Variable Population and Alvin Ailey Dance of the Village Elders. I received total elbow arthroplasty November 12, 2015 and began professional pain management in December.

My Goals:
I have started a different eating regimen. It is just like the Atkins Diet, but a little different. I am eating high protein, fiber rich meals. That's meats and green, leafy vegetables. I also eat some nuts that are high in fiber and blackberries and raspberries. It's been a marvelous journey and I've lost 25 pounds in 6 months.


My Program:
I was in two senior dance/movement classes this Spring and that meant I was pain free for most of 2014 to date. Now that the classes have ended I have to find another exercise regimen.



Personal Information:
I live in New York City but I am helping my mother and sister take care of my dad in New Jersey. I don't get to stay in one state all week, I am back and forth and it's nerve wracking right now.


Other Information:
I am 61 years old and my life is full of taking care of my family. I don't have any time for me. But I am happy and and I feel needed and very important to my family. I will just have to be satisfied with that feeling right now.
