Old Dog - Still Learning New Tricks

Long time fitness buff. While never being truly overweight, I have a hard time keeping my body fat percentage under control. I continue to strength train a few times a week. I've added swimming and bike riding into my fitness plan recently. Trying to do twice a week on each.

I started running at age 64, now 3 years later I've logged a few miles, including 6 marathons.

HAPPY-DESTINY said you are a HAM guy! Nice to meet you! He said you'd been reading our posts. Feel free to pop in and chat with us. I thought I'd stop by and say hello to you. I got Extra last year, well, actually did a Grand Slam, passed all 3 licenses in 35 minutes and the VEs were very very curious ;o) and now I am having fun with a couple Yaesu's, VX8DR and 857D mobile I also use for base.
I was 2nd female Electronics Test Technician at Hughes Aircraft back in 77. I'm kind of proud of that. 6 months earlier, I'd have been 1st. So I've been studying electronics almost daily since 76, do a lot of projects and fix everything electrical in my house. Scares the heck out of the husband though....funny. I'm not scared at all, just take the usual precautions and careful. LOVE to learn to fix something broken. Last summer, my $800 window AC unit stopped working. I fixed it for $45.00 (solenoid bad). Husband had told me to just throw it away. NOT! Was only 3 years old.
Are you willing to chat on the HAM Radio team? I've posted there before, and it was not living at all. Last posts were 2 years or so earlier. Made me sad. LOLZ. I'd like to see it moving again...lots to chat about.
Then I found HAPPY, and I've been motivating him to study for his Tech. I'll get him up to Extra in time.

Check out the web site of Stephen Jepson www.NeverLeaveThePlayground(dot)com
He's 74 and teaches how to stay agile so we don't lose our balance and we can build brain cells to stay alert. (Yes, science says we can do that.) His web site Never Leave the Playground is all about fun exercise. He has clips on YouTube.

Another interesting guy is IzzyBarish on his YouTube channel. He has worked out since '79 in his fantastic basement gym that he built up over the years. He's 65. He loves doing Indian Club workouts for flexibility.
