For my recent info refer to my new blog. I am not getting any younger and need to loose to be healthier. I belong to TOPS and still have not reached goal but at least I have losses and know I can get this done. To be honest I have NOT been exercising. Getting out of bed and making trips to the fridge don't count. BUT I have discovered something. I can do more. I have a Gazelle that has been collecting dust and snow. Well I decided to clean it off and use it. It squeaked to life and I set my alarm for 5 minutes because I did not think I could do more. It was hard the first time, second time a week later and again the third time another week later. That time I thought I could have gone longer but the alarm went off and so I stopped. WHY???? I realized I had set myself up for failure. so the next time I got on the gazelle I set the stopwatch and went until I felt like that was about all I had. I was surprised to see it was almost 10 minutes so I pushed forward for that 10. Well when I looked it was 12 minutes and I thought " I think I could make 15 minutes" so on I went. I live in the mountains and have a lovely view from my porch where the gazelle is sitting and I got distracted watching Squikie (the Cat) play with her tail. When I looked down at the stopwatch I had done 16.2 minutes. That was last Wednesday, Today I pushed on and made 20.2 minutes. My plan would be to continue to 30 minutes and do it daily. I am on my way. March 22 2013 It is 30 degrees outside and I know I need to get in my exercise.... Well I out on my sweats and on to the Gazelle I go. I can see snow on the distant mountains and ice covers the top layer of water in the rain barrel and I am counting my steps as I use the Gazelle . I am only getting in 10 minutes but that is better than ZERO. I have gotten my glucose level down this week and am doing well at keeping it there. I am beginning to see progress toward my goals. February 2014. Another cold day. I am finally back and working on this weight loss, lifestyle change. It is a challenge every day but I know I am worth the effort. May 2014, and the journey continues. I am now consistently using the Gazelle daily. I still have to make myself do it but I am going to make this work. I have reduced my caloric intake by about 500 to 1000/day. Still have work to do. I am still having trouble with evening snacking. I am still working on me. Jan 14 2015 I have started again. Seems like I get distracted and stop trying. I have a dear friend that lives in GA. She has lost 100 pounds and kept it off for several years. She is a great inspiration to me. She is also my greatest cheerleader. I MUST get this excess weight off. I have made some positive goals. I am working on improving my health. I am doing better with my FBS levels And remembering to take ,y medicine and now must work on increasing my exercise. I am tracking my food and fitness on SP, and active with my TOPS chapter. I am still a work in progress the inner me is fighting to get out of this clock of indifference.

My Goals:
1. Loose Weight. (100 pounds)
2. Maintain a healthy glucose level. (60 -100)
3. Begin to exercise consistently . (at least 10 minutes a day and slowly increase to 30 minutes a day.)
To remember to take my medicine every day. (Twice a day, I often forget my evening dose of insulin)


My Program:
I plan to log my food, reduce carbs and calories and increase exercise. Keep a positive atitude and encourage other with their goals.

    Hey there BonWil2!

    Hope you're back in here and still trying. There's no shame in getting off track, just find a way back on again. I've been told that if we can get the weight down and keep it off for at least a year, it will become less of a struggle to keep it off. I sure hope that's right!

    I'm back at it (again), with family support this time. I'm so busy with my new work assignment and finishing school that I've been eating poorly - not enough veggies and too much grab-and-go. Mom and I worked out a trade - she struggles with managing household bills since Dad passed away (he always did that) and it's easy for me - so she has agreed to help me with food prep so I'll have better options easily available and I'm taking over her mail and bills. I think I got the better end of the deal, she's an awesome cook!
