Not much going on here either....I see you got the brunt of TS Julia. We thought it wasn't supposed to be a TS and was supposed to come over out way...big rain event. But, just got some off and on thunderstorms like a normal day in FL. You need the rain more than us, since you are abnormally dry according to the drought monitor online. Hope you get to catch up on work soon after all the rain. We hope to go to the park today, but it is still thundering out.
    Have a good one! emoticon

P.S. The only famous person I ever met was Fabio the model, and that sure was exciting!! emoticon emoticon

I don't understand why people insist on building like that right on the coast either! That is why those things freak me out...being we are only 6 miles inland! I mean look at the tornadoes that are spawned from these! They even had one way over 60 miles from the coast near The Villages in Lake county. I read where usually you cannot get house or business insurance if you are right on the coast...ever since 2004 or maybe it was when the other one that hit Homestead. Anyway, how can they afford it!? Several businesses were just wiped out! They are rebuilding as of now...one said maybe open by November Thanksgiving time. Geeze! Funny how the really OLD structures there in Cedar Key are still standing!! It was the newer builds like the condos that got the worst of it. Even that old restaurant in my feed post, was abandoned after a fire the almost gutted it (we used to love to go to that place and sit and eat- upstairs and look out to the ocean with all its windows) -it is still standing mostly!
A lot of people on here think Cedar Key is in the Keys! I don't know why they even call it a Key! Love that place! You could make a mint hauling off junk right now, if you lived there. I would love to volunteer to help with the building or clean up, if I lived closer or had an RV to stay in while doing so. They have a big Pirate Invasion happening this weekend - sounds like fun! Although I cannot imagine what they are going to do with so much rubble around and half the restaurants gone now! Even the only grocery store is shut down from having flooded so bad and ruining all the food! Just so sad! I had tears in my eyes as we drove by and walked around a bit. They all have such a good spirit and so many are helping them and getting a lot done!
We had a great weekend...really tired today, from all the running around! But, it was fun! Later Gator, emoticon

How are things progressing? Went to the wildlife park today and lots of damage there! No A/C, flooding in the buildings (now dry in main entrance-which got a foot of water in it). Posted a pic of a huge downed tree in the bird area. We couldn't even go to the back area for our river walk, too many downed trees, will take awhile to clean up. Even a huge tree blocking the river and the boats that carry the visitors cannot run! Glad we went anyway...will try going again next week.
You may have a new storm on your side within a week! Here we go again! I hope not! Maybe a strong front will turn it away like Gaston was!!!! Hope you had a good Labor Day weekend too....we did. Although I was super tired...my nerves from that storm got to me. Plus, my SAD was acting up (Seasonal Affective Disorder) --really got depressed BAD. I hate having that...even in Sunny FL -when that sun goes away for long periods of time, it will hit me sometimes. emoticon
Have a good evening! Thanks for checking in and for being such a super friend! Big emoticon

How are you doing? I was a nervous wreck last night. But the headache was so bad I slept through most of it! emoticon I was up and down though and checked on things. I can't believe he went to work! But, all is well, thank goodness he didn't encounter any problems to or from. We are now getting rain again. I tell you, I do not want to go through this again! Ohio is starting to look better all the time! Glad you didn't get it too bad. Some really did though...feel bad for them. Flooding over here is bad in some areas! Later gator.... emoticon

We had a nice relaxing 5 days off! I do believe in the spirit world and that there are bad ones out there...I do believe dogs probably can sense them. I won't go near those places (inside them anyway)! emoticon They said even people can feel something when they go into this OLD hotel in Cedar Key-never been in it.
I am never up early enough to see sunrises! He sees them more than me and they aren't as nice normally as the sunsets in his opinion. Are you ready for this storm? We are going to get the brunt of it! emoticon I hate this!!!!! You got room for two more in your RV!? emoticon Will keep you posted....it makes me so nervous! This may be what triggers us into making new plans, if you know what I mean. Get the heck out of Dodge! There is a new one coming off the coast of Africa right now...geeze! At least with an RV you can hook it up and go to a new home further away from danger. Be safe. Always love hearing from you too. Later gator, emoticon
