I am 47 years old and I want to get in shape and stay in shape. I am losing weight by exercising, portion control, and using my food scale to weigh foods. I found out by not losing for months sometimes that foods that I was eating had more calories in them than I thought they had. Even things like apples, oranges, and grapes sometimes had close to 100 calories in them or a little over that sometimes and I was logging them before guessing on the size of them which sometimes online was giving me like 60 calories instead of around 100. The scale also helps me weigh meats, baked potatoes, etc. It has helped me so much. I also measure my peanut butter and other things with spoons, measuring cups etc. Guessing at the food before kept me stuck for too many months before. No more guessing on foods for me. I also am drinking more water than I used to. I usually drink 8 to 9 glasses of water a day now and I don't drink my calories in soda or juices. I do enjoy a soda every now and then and have chocolate everyday. I love the lindt 70% cocoa chocolate bar. I have a square every day. I also love Yopa dove chocolate vanilla greek yogurt and the Key lime one with the graham cracker crumbs. I still eat homemade meatloaf and mashed potatoes and other homemade food but I use portion control. I don't eat out every weekend. I do that every few weeks instead.
I am trying to vary my exercise dvds also so that I don't get bored. I love Turbo Jam, Jari Love ripped series, Jessica Smith's kickboxing dvd, Leslie Sansone dvds especially her newer hiit ones and walk it off in 30. I also like an hour walk on the treadmill at an incline of 2.5-4.0 once or twice a week.
I am using different videos and dvd's including Jessica Smith's kickboxing, Turbo Jam, and walking. I like yoga too.
I live in MD. We are a homeschooling family.
I love gardening, planting flowers, and spending time with my family.
I love watching Dallas, the walking dead, hoarding and weight loss shows, and the bold and the beautiful.

Thanks so much for the goodie. Don't give up on trying aerials. If you can find it in your area, aerial hammock is a good place to start because you have fabric behind you for support. It doesn't require as much strength as other aerials. It is also a good way to build up the strength to progress. It is also fun and a great workout. It's always good to try new things!

Hi BK! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and posting such thoughtful comments. I do make mental notes, week to week, of what goes wasted. And that has helped some. For example, I've learned that I need to buy prepackaged salads and cantaloupe that's already cut up. Otherwise, it just ain't gonna happen.
I never considered buying goodies that I don't like as much. Now that's an interesting thought. Hmm, I'm not sure. I have to think about that a little more.
