Finding My Pace

December 1st, 2014 I began medifast when I had exhausted all other weight lost and options and essentially "gave up" on a traditional way to lose weight through portion control, healthy choices, and exercise. I admitted to myself I couldn't do it on my own.

My first weigh in was at 258 pounds, my highest weight ever. In the month of December 2014 I lost 20 pounds in spite of the holidays, and a few cheats with ice cream, cake, and cookies. I am still in disbelief that something ...

I am still in disbelief that something is finally working for me! My final goal is to lose between 100-130 pounds.

I have begun exercising regularly through swimming and hiking in hopes of getting my body strong again and hoping to keep loose skin to a minimum.

I feel a definite change, and even when I tell myself I'm going to allow my cheat, I don't binge, and I don't crave what I used to - which was usually all sugar.

You have to find what works for you, and for now, this is working for me! I'm currently transitioning off medifast into something more manageable, but I'm sticking with small meals multiple times a day and low carb/low sugar because that seems to work well for me. I also recently set an appointment with a nutritional counselor to guide me through this process.

My Goals:
To lose between 100-130 pounds.

To strength train/exercise to build back strength to my core and arms.

To learn healthy, lifelong eating habits that will help me stay within 10 pounds of my goal weight (between 130-150).

My Program:
Medifast for the first 30 pounds and now I am transitioning to Sparkpeople for tracking and continuing to eat small meals multiple times a day and to stay to a lower carb/sugar lifestyle.

I have joined an aquatics class 1 night a week, 1 day a week I hike and now I am looking at my schedule to commit to a 3rd day/hour of me time to exercise.

Thanks for the "sunny" pep talk... Was really bummed when I weighed in this morning so I appreciate the encouraging note :-) Guess I'll just have to work harder this week, LOL :-)

I'm doing fabulous :) I'm getting married in 10 months and am so excited :) I'm still in MD and loving it. Although he's dreading the cold lol. That is so awesome on the weightloss. I joined Ideal Protein and I love it. Did you get married? Last time we talked, I believe you were engaged?
