LOWCARBING ON A BUDGET

Ever think that low carbing has to be expensive? It doesn't, and I'm out to prove it. I'll be posting menus, recipes, shopping lists, and prices for low carb eating. I have done a modified Food Stamps Challenge for the past couple of years, limiting my purchases to $100 for the month and only eating what I purchased with my food stamps money. It can be done. And without eating ramen or mac 'n' cheese!

A couple of things you should know. First, these menus aren't exciting. After all, food should be a source of nutrition, not entertainment. There's a lot of duplication and a lot of leftovers. That's the way I eat. Living alone and cooking for one will do that to a menu.

Second, prices are those I've seen here in Idaho the last couple of weeks. Most are regular prices, not sale prices. Your prices, of course will be different.

Third, these are not "real" menus, in that I've just made them up on paper. I'm living with my parents at the moment and low carb is freaking them out enough without adding a budget element to it! But I have done it in the past for real.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Yep, went to the neurologist... got the injections, and had 7 days migraine free in a row, which is practically a miracle. The effective of the injections is cumulative, so I should see more relief after each set... unfortunately they can only be done every 12 weeks.

Hi, I just read your post about low carbing on a budget. Do you still have these menus posted somewhere? I am also on a tight budget and am running out of ideas for meals.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. My leg is about as healed as it is going to get. The break was in 2013. It's been a long few years and I am in physical therapy for it. but it's getting better. I would have responded to the person on their page, but I guess they have a private blog because I can't access it lol.

Yeah when I say I'm going at it alone, I was mostly speaking of keeping the real-life friends and family out of what I'm doing about my weight and other problems I am working on. Just bring it all back to online and leave it here since they have never known me online. That is one thing I always kept a mystery to them lol. Helps I have a family full of Luddites :D

Thank you for your thoughts on my blog.

Right now I am too hurt to allow my Mum in a room with my daughter and myself, for one of the reasons you mention, I will not allow my daughter to see that angry, hurt side of me, nor frighten her with it. She already saw me cry and came and hugged me saying "Mummy sad" and asking "Mummy happy?" after she hugged me.

I am going to maintain a distance until after the party when I will feel calmer, I am sure we will still have a good time and that will make it easier to accept her presence again. I do not want her right out of our lives, but I am too hurt for now to handle it in an adult, calm way.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's nice to know there are kids who still put down their phones and ipads long enough to go outside and play in the snow.
