LOWCARBING ON A BUDGET

Ever think that low carbing has to be expensive? It doesn't, and I'm out to prove it. I'll be posting menus, recipes, shopping lists, and prices for low carb eating. I have done a modified Food Stamps Challenge for the past couple of years, limiting my purchases to $100 for the month and only eating what I purchased with my food stamps money. It can be done. And without eating ramen or mac 'n' cheese!

A couple of things you should know. First, these menus aren't exciting. After all, food should be a source of nutrition, not entertainment. There's a lot of duplication and a lot of leftovers. That's the way I eat. Living alone and cooking for one will do that to a menu.

Second, prices are those I've seen here in Idaho the last couple of weeks. Most are regular prices, not sale prices. Your prices, of course will be different.

Third, these are not "real" menus, in that I've just made them up on paper. I'm living with my parents at the moment and low carb is freaking them out enough without adding a budget element to it! But I have done it in the past for real.

Because my husband is vegetarian, therefore defeating the object of cooking a meal we can all eat.

I think I have gotten some wise words on why change is so hard for me. I do expect a lot of myself and push myself. I do have an already active life via work and whatever else. I should also focus more on small changes than jumping in headfirst and failing. I hope that advice helps you too! I am going to try and implement it!

Thanks for commenting on my blog... meal planning is not my strong suit. I get a taste for something other than what I planned, and then I am not satisfied with what is on the plan... so I eat more. LOL! Flexibility seems like a good thing to me, as long as I stay within my ranges for the day. Am I right?

I have been told by the Lord Jesus Christ to pray for my enemy and her salvation.
