Learning To Live In Moderation

Hey there! Thanks for visiting my page! My name is Kim and I am currently doing the Winter 5% challenge and am on the Champions in the Kitchen team.My very first 5% challenge was during the Summer and I reached my goal of 9#'s plus a couple more! I am super excited to see what I can accomplish during this Winter challenge!

Hey there! Thanks for visiting my page! My name is Kim and I am currently doing the Winter 5% challenge and am on the Champions in the Kitchen team.My very first 5% challenge was during the Summer and I reached my goal of 9#'s plus a couple more! I am super excited to see what I can accomplish during this Winter challenge!

My plan is to eat everything in moderation and add some extra focus on getting more freggies and cutting back on the junk food.I know I do well when getting plenty of water,so a minimum of 8 glasses is my goal.

Walking 5 days a week with a goal of 10,000 steps or more is my exercise goal.I stick to my exercise routine when it is gotten out of the way first thing each morning,so that is what I will strive for.I know I need to work on strength training...this is a hard one for me to stick to,so it will be my biggest challenge.My plan is to focus on that 3 days a week.

My Goals:
My Winter 5% Challenge commitment.

I will stay in my calorie range

I will eat more vegetables and less junk food

I will drink a minimum of 64oz. water daily

I will walk,walk,walk

I will support my team to the best of my ability

I will lose 5% of my body weight by the conclusion of the challenge

I will be a team player





My Program:
Everything in moderation while staying in my calorie range.
Stay hydrated with lot's of water.
Walking at least 1 hour 5 days a week and getting at least 10,000 steps in as well.

Understanding this is a life long commitment and enjoying it!

Personal Information:
My name is Kim.I am 43 years old,married 25 years with no children.I'am about as country as you can get.I love animals(especially dogs) and being outdoors.I also love raising a large garden and canning my own food.I try to be as self sufficient as possible.

thank you for your kind words after reading about the loss of my sweet dog. Even after 10 months, it is still very raw. I try now and then to work up a memorial shadow box but get all weepy still. There are still times when something will come to mind that reminds us of her and we get choked up. She truly was our very best dog!!!

Walking's not your thing … do something for 15 min (= 1 mile). Just move!

Mini-Challenge for you this week: "Hit Pause" emoticon emoticon

The next time you’re tempted to reach for that chocolate ice cream (or whatever you're craving), stop & “hit pause.” Consider your decision for about 10 minutes. The majority of us don’t hesitate long enough when it comes cravings.

“Hit pause,” and take a little time to decide if it’s really worth the splurge. If you ultimately decide it’s worth it, pay close attention to the texture, aroma, and flavor of that special treat. Savor & enjoy every morsel. It will help you feel satisfied with a smaller portion.
