Recapturing my love of good food, reconnecting with the satisfaction of preparing and enjoying meals created from quality ingredients. No More Industrial Food. No processed "diet" food! This is a journey of pleasure, not deprivation. At heart I am a "foodie" who lost her way and became mired in "convenience" and fast food. I take great interest in local agriculture, sustainable food production, and food policy issues. Somehow I managed to sideline these values for awhile while i fed from the Big Food machine... but I'm back and it is my devoted mission to have a cupboard devoid of prepackaged foods and a fridge full of freshness... To emphasize locally grown, quality over quantity, and pleasure in every bite. I lost 55# once before (1999/2000 on Weight Watchers), and kept most of it off for several years. Somewhere in 2008/2009, I began a disastrous re-gain of the rest of that weight and lots, lots more. Disappointing, but I can fix this. Overall Goal: Reach a "Normal" BMI (154# or less, or 91+ pounds lost) Interim Weight Goals: *One-derland (46# down) *Move from 'obese' to 'overweight' (at 185, or 60# down) *Buy something not "Plus Size"
