    WOW, you have been here almost as long as I have. Not many from '07 still around. I find Richard Bernstein M.D. to be very interesting, along with Jason Fung M.D. and now I'm listening to Gregory Ellis PhD on YouTube. I'm not sure if he is 100% valid but he does make a lot of good points about the LCHF diet which he follows. He does believe in Calorie Count. I never understood Dr. Atkins to say "Eat all you want" but rather" eat until full and STOP". He thinks the Atkins diet is to tough to start out at 20 carbs because we don't have enough fat burning enzymes until about 4 weeks into the protocol. I am on Day 25 and finding that I feel better, but I did go through the "Keto flu" period. No hunger so that is all I care.
    I had my GB out 7 yrs ago as I had two golf ball size stones, all from a low fat diet I followed for years and high carbs. Haven't missed it since.

    Time to refocus. Maybe I was getting a little overconfident about how well I was doing on LCHF emoticon because I can feel the slide happening if I don't watch myself ...anyhow...back to phase 1 next week and then will bump to phase 2 so I can add back my almonds which I rely on heavily for snacks in the car while running kids. Amazing how a handful of those can get me through until I can get home for dinner that is on plan vs. hitting a drive through.
    BUT I'm seriously slacking on veggies and I need to make those little treasures a focal point so that I don't give up on them so easily next time.

    I am on Team Keto. On Dr. Westman's diet, I can have NO, white foods such as potatoes, bread, pastas, rice, no onions, no fruit and no milk products but heavy whipping cream and hard cheeses, sour cream and cream cheese.

    I have to change recipes to get them to comply, but that is not too hard to do. I thank you for the invitation to the group, but I don't participate all that much in the groups I am in except to give them group points.
