2014 - Challenge ACCEPTED!

I have been working at this for a few years now but I have only been working at it diligently for the last couple. I have seen progress not only in my weight and inches lost, but also in my energy, stamina and determination. I have a new outlook on life. In 2013, I enjoyed pushing myself to try things that others said I couldn't do and I enjoyed pushing myself to work harder than I thought was possible. 2013 was the year for me to work on me. A year dedicated to showing myself how to Enjoy Life ...

I have seen progress not only in my weight and inches lost, but also in my energy, stamina and determination. I have a new outlook on life. In 2013, I enjoyed pushing myself to try things that others said I couldn't do and I enjoyed pushing myself to work harder than I thought was possible. 2013 was the year for me to work on me. A year dedicated to showing myself how to Enjoy Life and Enjoy ME! I can honestly say that I have more days than not where I can look at myself in the mirror and see all my imperfections, but not focus on them. I can see my imperfections AND yet appreciate them because I've worked hard to get to where I am. I can see my imperfections and still know that I am beautiful...and not just on the inside, but on the outside as well! Throughout 2013 I used the phrase "Challenge Accepted" more than I ever have and so I decided that my motto for 2014 is going to be "Challenge Accepted!" I'm not going to just think it, but I'm going to say it as well. I want others to know that I may see something as a challenge, but it is still something that I plan to conquer! I will spend this year looking for new things to push myself and returning to old things that I gave up on. I'm done with letting my old mindset determine how I may or may not be able to live my life. I am a new person both mentally and physically and it is time for me to let the world get to know the new me!

Things I plan on doing in 2014:
Completing Insanity!! By the time 2014 begins I will only have 2 1/2 weeks left of Insanity, but I need to still plan on finishing because as the end draws near to a program, that's usually when it gets the most difficult for me to finish.
Doing and Completing Shaun T's Hip Hops Abs
Doing and Completing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred
Doing and Completing 1 month-long challenge each month, or 12 (minimum) throughout the year.
Kayak from Young's State Park across Lake Charlevoix and through part of Lake Michigan into Petoskey. Last year I kayaked across Lake Charlevoix and into Charlevoix, but this year I want to go farther!

Things I would like to do in 2014:
Skydive and/or do a ZipLine
Rock Climbing - It doesn't have to be a mountain, I'd be ok with a wall :) - DONE!! 3/8/2014
Run a Half-Marathon - In order for me to do this, I need to be able to get my neck problems figured out so I don't pass out after running only 2 miles. lol
Go to an Aquarium - I know it's not a physical thing, but it is something I really want to do and I plan on walking a lot when I'm there :)
Go to the Zoo - Same as the Aquarium :)
Pay off my Loans!! - Again, not physical, but once I get this paid off, I can start saving my money to be used on things that can be physical, like a road trip to climb a mountain or pay for my "Goal Reached!" trip to the Philippines! :D

Oh, phew!! I was kind of stressing out for you there for a few days!
You sound like you've been keeping up with your healthy habits and I am trying my best to do the same. I still stress-binge now and then and I have recently been having a hard time being really content with who I am and where I am. I am so used to the struggle, now that I have nothing to struggle against I am finding it hard to just enjoy want I've achieved. I'm also trying to balance the idea of being selfish for non-selfish reasons... T and I have been playing with the idea of joining the peace corps in the nearish future and that is just another reason for me to be "selfish" about my weight loss goals.

I also wanted to let you know that, although I can't quite pay you back, I am working on a project to pay it forward. Although, I still think that we should do some kayaking trip or something sometime. My treat. =)
