Hi, I'm Candi and I found my way here from a Yahoo article. I'm just over a year from turning the big 50 and I realized, I've been overweight more years than I've been at a healthy weight. Sometimes only slightly overweight and sometimes not so slightly. After I was injured in an accident, getting in shape became more of a challenge. Realizing the percentage of my life that I've been jeopardizing my health, I knew I had to do something. I mean, really do something. Not just make a halfhearted effort like I've been guilty of so often in the past.
I've been involved with a fantastic man now for 4 years. He's never been anything but extremely supportive of me in any way. Including my weight and my karaoke addiction! Lol.. Considering he's a professional musician and is willing to go with me to karaoke is a huge concession and statement of love in my eyes! Anyway, I have a variety of different interests. I'm an avid reader, a competitive culinary enthusiast, a sound technician and curious about darn near everything. I sew, I crochet, I write and before the accident, I hiked, biked, played paintball, gardened, danced, went to the gym and just about anything else that caught my fancy. I loved doing anything physical. Including hard physical labor like carrying band equipment!
I would love to do better than just get back in the jeans I wore 4 years ago. Although I do love myself, I'm not crazy about the extra weight I've been carrying. I'd love to be able to look in the mirror, see a skinnier healthier me and be able to say.. I did that!
I fell off the wagon just in time for the 2012 Holiday Season and am finally getting back on track. First order of business is losing the weight I gained back and then starting on the original goal. Right now I'm looking at losing 50 by the time I'm 50. That puts me well within what should be normal for my height. So here's to all of us going from flab to fab!
I've decided to go back to what worked, so it's SCD for me.
