To the END

Over the last few years I've vacillated between being "obese" and "over weight", never making it to "normal". After I lose a good amount of weight - 30 lbs. or so - I find something in me resisting; and I get obsessive about food --- eating, eating, eating until I've gained most (or all) of the weight back.

As I round the clubhouse turn toward my 60's, it is time to get to a normal weight NOW and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The body parts are starting to creak and rebel for what I have and am putting them through.
I do well when I have a tangible, desirable goal, e.g., taking a trip that requires a lot of walking for which I want to get in shape. Unfortunately, after the trip, I start to slide again. I definitely need to change my goal/reward strategies.

Your travels sound wonderful! My sister and b-i-l went to Alaska on a cruise last year with a final few days in Vancouver. They really liked it. A highlight seemed to be a visit to Denali National Park. I'm not sure if that was all part of the cruise, or if they did that separately.
I am not sure of my travels next year, other than a trip to FL in the winter. I can't face another one of the winters we had in Boston this past year. It was pretty awful. My dog has been in failing health and needs so much care that it would be hard to leave her with (inflict her on) a family member. So, 2016 might stay domestic.

Thanks for the goodie! Yeah, the friend feed is harder to find and I hardly ever see it anymore. Your trip sounds wonderful! I've not been to Switzerland. Europe is getting a bit "iffy" for me with the Terrorism stuff, so I have been going to South America more. Did Easter Island and the Chilean Fjords, then did Ecuador with the Amazon and Galapagos. Just got back from a cruise on the Columbia and Snake Rivers in WA and OR. Lewis & Clark stuff. Very gorgeous scenery and we had a great historian on board with us. The cruise line was the pits but other than that it was a good trip. Next year in October is 3 weeks in Brazil with Atacama Desert thrown in as a pre trip and Iguassu as a post. My friend from NM and I are considering a 14 day cruise to Alaska next May. Hopefully the economy will stabilize.

Are you back among us?! I saw that you "liked" my points total. How have you been? I've been plugging away still trying to lose 15 of the 20 pounds I gained when I moved in 2013. It's a challenge to be sure. Doing lots and lots of walking. 6-6.5 miles every day. Now I just need to trim the calories (sugar mostly) and I should be on the road to losing it. Welcome back!

Hi! I saw that you were planning a trip to Paris for Christmas. What are you planning to see?
