Over the last few years I've vacillated between being "obese" and "over weight", never making it to "normal". After I lose a good amount of weight - 30 lbs. or so - I find something in me resisting; and I get obsessive about food --- eating, eating, eating until I've gained most (or all) of the weight back.

As I round the clubhouse turn toward my 60's, it is time to get to a normal weight NOW and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The body parts are starting to creak and rebel for what I have and am putting them through.
I do well when I have a tangible, desirable goal, e.g., taking a trip that requires a lot of walking for which I want to get in shape. Unfortunately, after the trip, I start to slide again. I definitely need to change my goal/reward strategies.

My Goals:
Lose 50+ lbs.
Achieve A1C of 6.0 or less and reduce meds.
Achieve normal blood pressure and get off meds. [DONE! Although my doc keeps me on a "whiff" of BP meds for kidney protection due to my Type 2]
Lower overall/LDL/tri to normal range [DONE!] and reduce meds.
Lose 8 inches from waist.

My Program:
Monitoring carb/calorie intake.
Walking.

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog! Try different things when it is hot...I just cannot stay inside too long! Depressing!! Our rain chances are increasing this week too, but you know what to do.... emoticon emoticon as long as no emoticon is around, of course!
