Getting going (again)


I work in a helping profession, but my friends are not available for going walking with, encouragement, accountability due to their (and my) crazy schedules. Maintaining my own motivation in the areas of diet/nutrition, and especially related to exercise or fitness will be a key factor for me.

My Goals:
Some of my goals on this site include:
losing about 20-30 more pounds (started at 230, now at 220),
lowering my cholesterol and glucose levels,
get into a regular habit of walking (and possibly other exercise),
feel happier about my overall appearance.

My Program:
I've started reducing my soda intake (most days) and have increased my water intake, have started watching more closely the content of what I eat regularly, and I already am eating chicken or fish most of the time as my main course (with a salad and often fruit).

I usually take the stairs 2 at a time (going up) at work, but still need to get back into regularly walking.

Personal Information:
I live - as you could guess from my username - in Cape Girardeau (Southeast Missouri).
