Caren's Corner

I'm living the lifestyle, eating & exercising like the slim, fit & healthy person I want to be; by body can't help but catch up, because I'm worth it, and I deserve it.

I've been painfully aware that I've lost large amounts of weight before, and gained it all back and more! I'm embarrassed I was 202 in 2007, 168 in 2008, 209 in 2010, and now I'm at 176. I want people to know that I gained 40 pounds, even though I was on SparkPeople. I know I'm not alone. Regain happens to other ...

Regain happens to other people, too. I feel for them, and want them to know that with the right kind of tools (mostly mental) you can lose the weight for the last time.

I'm 53, divorced and have 3 boys: 26, 21 & 15.

Life is what happens when you made other plans.
Hope you get well soon, so you can have other races.
Too bad how this happened though.

Thank you for the comment on my “reboot” blog. Your support means a lot! "To take one step is courageous; to stay on the path day after day, choosing the unknown, and facing yet another fear, that is nothing short of grace." Danna Faulds

Are You Master of Your Spark Domain?

Remember the Seinfeld Game? Remember how quickly Jerry, Kramer and Elaine all were out? Let's see if you can do better. Here is how it works.

Beginning midnight April 1, track. Track everything. Nutrition, water, exercise, the whole shebang. Don't track something, you are out. Fess up. Miss your 8 cups of water, out. Blow your calories, you are out. Fess up on this thread. Exercise without tracking, out. To make it fun, don't exercise at least one hour a week, out.

Once a week on Sundays (say), roll call for those who still are "in" and playing.

Deceptively simple, but it's not. Who's in? Starting roll call this Sunday. Ready, set, go!

(Free year of Spark membership for the winner.) Are you in?
