Making It Happen!

July 7, 2015: I was healthy before and I can get there again. That's keeping it simple. I gained back the 40 lbs I lost and am finally deciding to get back on track. I've been nursing along my sore knees for a few months now and can't help but think about how the extra weight is probably making it worse. So, here I am, giving it a go again. I want these 40 lbs gone and kept off. I want "healthy" to be less of a conscious effort and more of a normal habit.

My Program:
Trying to stay on track with my nutrition is key. Everything in moderation. Exercise does not have to be perfect... just because I don't have time for a long run doesn't mean I should skip it all together... just get out and do SOMEthing!

If your knee issue is due to worn cartilage in your knee then Gllucosamine/Chondroitin may help. Research on it is mixed with a lot of it saying it does not help. What it is supposed to do is slow down the wearing away of the cartilage and help build it back up, so it take time to work, at least a month or more. The studies I have seen that say it does work also state that the dose is dependent on weight. You need to take more if you weigh more.

What I have seen with myself is that when I do not take it, walking a mile a day my knees hurt. When I take it regularly I can walk 4 or more miles a day and my knees ache by the end of the day. For me achy knees at the end of the day and being able to walk a lot is much better than walking only a little and hurting.

There is a book by Deepak Chopra which covers the basic principles of quantum healing. It is called The Seven Principles of Spritual Success.
