I am now 41 years old and have been on SP since September 2013.
My all time high weight was 205 pounds (93 kilo) at 5 ft 8 (173 cm). I have weight this much a couple of times, decided to lose 50 pounds with a diet, would succeed and gained it all back.

My all time high weight was 205 pounds (93 kilo) at 5 ft 8 (173 cm). I have weight this much a couple of times, decided to lose 50 pounds with a diet, would succeed and gained it all back.
The last time I hit my all time high (April 2013) I was just so tired of it all, I decided to make more permanent changes.

So I made some permanent changes gradually. I started keeping track of what I ate, focussed on and learned about eating healthy and started to do more sponteneous exercise and also planned exercise.

This lead again to a 50 pound (23 kilo) weight loss, feeling fit and happy with myself. I have trained for a half marathon and then a whole marathon, which made it easier to keep the weight off.

However, at some point exercise became a solution for eating too much fat, sugar and calories in general, again.
I have been yo-yo-ing again since May 2014, between 159 pounds (72 kilo) and 171 pounds (78 kilo).

And of course, when I got injured earlier this year and stopped running in May, I gained even more, ending up at 176 pounds (80 kilo) in September, which is something I promised myself I would never weigh again.

But I wasn't able to get the control back permanently, so now (end of Dec 2015) I am back at 188 pounds.

But even though I am still yo-yo-ing, it is not as bad as it was in the past, and I know the solution for me is tracking food, and staying within calorie range.
So that is what I started doing yesterday (get a headstart before the 1 Jan resolutions), and I will keep on doing at least until March 2016.

I will re-read Beck again to get my focus back.

Also as my injury is getting better, I am slowly starting to run again. But as I can't run beyond 5k at the moment, I will need to track my food in order to actually lose weight.

It feels good to be back on SP, to know that I can lose weight if I don't eat too many calories and keep myself active.

For 2016 I would like to get back to a healthy BMI again, and then really work on just maintaining that, even though that might be more than my final goal weight.

Looking forward to the new year!

Running a half marathon on 9 March 2014 (done!)
Running a marathon on 19 October 2014 (done!)
Getting to my goal weight (68 kilo) and maintain that all through 2015 (didn't do that, so my new goal is 72 kilo, and maintain that for a while first).

My Program:
- Eating within calorie range (by far the most important part of my program)
- Running (when no longer injured)
- Trying to burn calories by just being active in general, by walking, cycling, etc.

Thanks for your comments on my blog today... your encouragement is so helpful! The other thing i intend to do this year is to be kind to myself, to not berate myself when I fail to meet my standards. Just pick up and start again. It sounds as if you are doing well and I am glad to hear it!

Hi there - just wanted to wish you a Happy September as you mentioned in your feed you are back on a new streak...

Just curious based on your page comments if you are in the Neatherlands? I have been there a few times for work (Leiden) and found it to be beautiful - and I love all of the bike paths and that everyone is biking.

I am at a similar stage and goals (5'9" now 184 target 155), and have some 5k races upcoming. Anyway - best of luck for your September health and fitness goals!!
