I'm truly motivated to obtain a stronger and healthier body, making myself physically fit once again. I'm certain that I can accomplish this goal because I've seen so many others achieve success with this. No need for stress or messiness...just have fun and enjoy my life one day at a time. All I need to do is to consume simple meals everyday and no eating in between except for a late evening snack because on my diabetes. I'm committing to an exercise regime everyday... sometimes twice a day when I am able.

I've met some fantastic and motivating people here on SPARK PEOPLE; the more friends I make here, the happier I am. My friends help to keep me on the right track while on this fitness and health journey. No doubt, while eating healthy and trying my best to improve in fitness, I will eventually have weight success as well. This could be considered a dream for many people, but I have come to realize that it need not be a dream at all. It has happened to others, and I know that it can happen to me as well.

I am a widow, and I have one living child, and 7 grandchildren. I had another daughter who unfortunately passed away two years ago. Thankfully I am blessed to be the grandmother to her children, in addition to being a grandmother to the three children for my daughter who is still living. I love my family but I often miss out on having the fun with them I'd like to, because my body is not as fit and healthy as it could be.

It is past the time for me to seriously consider my own fitness and to finally live the healthy lifestyle that I should. Motivation and encouragement works for me, which is the reason I'm back at S/P. There is so much to learn from other people in the S/P community. I realize that it is a struggle to keep motivated and walk a straight and narrow path all the time. But here at SPARKPEOPLE is where I hope to be refreshed daily with the right amount of motivation needed to lead to me success in my weight loss journey..

My Goals:
1) Maintain success with my food plan daily... allowing for only healthy foods
2) lose at least three dress sizes during 2017

I will do this by:
A) Eating healthy meals in appropriate portions.
B) Daily exercise, journaling, and logging on to Spark people.
C) Become more productive...eliminating boredom and binge eating.

My Program:
1) No sugary or starchy foods.PLEANTY of vegetables and fruits.
2) 3 meals daily in addition to an evening snack.
3) Enhance spirituality...Meditate daily
4) Maintain an attitude of gratitude.
5) Think positive and do positive things for myself and others.

Personal Information:
I'm a mother a grandmother and a widow. Worked in the health care field as a registered nurse for many years and am now retired. I love my family, my friends, and my church.
Currently I am writing motivational short stories and poems, and have a published book of motivational poetry.
I also wrote a book for preteens, but it is yet to be published. Currently working on a book about the presidents. Hope to finish it sometime in 2017.

    Thank you for the snowman goodie, Carolyn! We haven't had any snow yet but there is some in the forecast for later this week.

    You're doing great with the daily challenges. But I think that instead of doing daily challenges on the weekend, we should just keep it to doing the during the week. People are so busy on weekends, especially at this time of year.
