Hello there! I have been teaching for almost 25 years and have been battling with my weight loss for many more moons than that. I have tried every diet known to man, and that has just messed up my metabolism. I have decided to go the Jenny Craig route, since I just don't cook any more. I love the food and it is easy to plan. I have been on the plan for a while now. I initially lost alot of weight, but gained a lot of it back because I let the stress of my life guide my eating.
My struggle is with myself. I have to be the one to decide not to eat, when to exercise, when to be good to myself. I find that this is a daily struggle that I am not always the clear winner.
HOWEVER!!! I KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!
I had a very physically challenging year, this year, with health issues. I have gained about 30 pounds this year. My goal from April2010 until April 2011 is to lose a pound-2 pounds a week by following my eating program, Walk 5000 steps at least 1-2 times a week, and most of all FOCUS MY EYES ON MY LORD instead of in the mirror!!
I am on my own, eating healthy, and moving more.
This year I have been healing from a knee replacement surgery, a severe ruptured lower lumbar vertebre, and a very stressful life at work. Just a few weeks ago I was hurt by a student. I am a stress eater, and have been dealing with a lot of stress. I can say right now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I am going as fast as I can toward that light!! I know things will get better, and even if the stress remains I have to find a way to not eat under pressure.

I happened upon your sparkpage and read about your struggle---you sound like me---it's been a struggle with myself---my evil, mean, negative thinking self! I have been up and down on the roller coaster with the same 25lbs to lose and I just recently jumped off and onto a new ride---a calmer, even and steady road--to success! You have the right attitude-NEVER give up! My current motto is-NO EXCUSES! (unless I am deathly ill, of course!) I am doing a daily minimum workout of 30 mins sometimes I do 40,50,60 mins but I HAVE to do at least 30. My only day off is Sundays. Baby steps-right? I am 16 days strong now and it feels like a routine already. Keep the faith and you can achieve anything!!
