How nice to hear from you here!! I'm sorry for your dad's diagnosis. It is heart breaking to watch. A psychiatrist recently explained dementia in a way that really helped me understand. He said the brain does all it can to survive. When it becomes confused and forgetful, it begins to function in a fight or flight manner. I know for us, my stepmother keeps wanting to run away and when we stop her, she becomes all kinds of abusive. We waited too long for Memory Care. Look into things now. Get a good lawyer versed in Elder Law to help you navigate the finance part. I wish we had done those things earlier.
My stepmother had a small stroke yesterday and spent the night in the hospital. She hasn't eaten for at least 24 hours. I'm not sure what will happen now but she is 93 and certainly not the person we knew. As long as she does not have to suffer.
Hope other parts of your life are going well!! 23 days ago
Thanks for stopping by my blogs. I did order some Vionic athletic shoes. I got them through Zappos since shipping is free both ways. I returned the shoes. The podiatrist says I need an athletic shoe that has a higher back and this one didn't. Hit me right at my heel pain. New Balance plus the orthotics has been good though my right orthotic has a couple of recent adjustments.
I think you should do a corn maze. The one we did was small but big enough. I'm afraid if I do one of those huge ones that I'll have to call on my phone to be rescued out of it.
I appreciate the encouragment you left on my blog. I will stay the course, one day at a time..."one choice" at a time. With encouragment from people like you, I will stay on course!!! 334 days ago
