One step and one day at a time

Hello and welcome to my page! If you couldn't guess my name is Cathy. My husband and I are from the Colorado Springs area of Colorado. We sold our home in Colorado and bought 13 acres of forested land on the edge of the Mark Twain National Forest here in southern Missouri. We don't have any children other than our cockatiels that we call our feathered puppies. :-))

Hello and welcome to my page! If you couldn't guess my name is Cathy. My husband and I are from the Colorado Springs area of Colorado. We sold our home in Colorado and bought 13 acres of forested land on the edge of the Mark Twain National Forest here in southern Missouri. We don't have any children other than our cockatiels that we call our feathered puppies. :-))

My husband and I make video games for a living from our home. We work well together and love that we get along so well that we can stand to be with each other 24/7. lol

Life has dealt me plenty of punches starting with my first surgery at the age of 5. At 9 I had a brain tumor removed that damaged my right optic nerve and destroyed my pituitary gland. As a result I'm legally blind in my right eye and have to take medicines for the rest of my life to make my body function normally. I've had multiple surgeries and broken bones over the years since then but I will not let anything stop me from becoming a better me physically and mentally.

I'm eating according the Fast Metabolism Diet. It's been a life saver for me. I finally found an eating plan that is helping me to shed unwanted pounds of fat from my body. Thanks to my virtual Spark Mom, FLORIDASUN, for blogging about how much success she had eating according to the Fast Metabolism Diet! If she had never blogged about her success I would have never tried it.

Summer 5% Challenge Commitment
Exercise:
Exercise at least 4 days per week and 1 - 2 days of relaxing activity

How I am going to accomplish this:
2 days of cardio - Mon & Tue
2 days of ST - Wed & Thur
At least 1 days of some sort of relaxing activity like yoga, tai chi or even painting polka dots on hubby's toenails when he isn't aware of me doing it or some other fun, relaxing activity. :)

I want to lose weight to be healthy primarily, feel better and have more energy. Of course I would like to look better as well.

I am doing walking, boxing, yoga, tai chi and whatever else I can or want to do or think of doing for exercise

I love to read. I love to read anything that isn't predictable. My favorite author is Stieg Larsson. I like some Dean Koontz novels. I've read the Hunger Games trilogy and like the author. I'm currently reading Game Of Thrones the 3rd book A Storm of Swords.
