Lifestyle Makeover

After a decade of weight gain, I'm focused on living a healthy life.

It took a few attempts to make progress, but in 2013 things clicked. I lost 22 pounds and lost 3" from my waist. Small diet and exercise changes started to show real results.

It took a few attempts to make progress, but in 2013 things clicked. I lost 22 pounds and lost 3" from my waist. Small diet and exercise changes started to show real results.

As of July 2014, I've lost a total of 43 pounds. I've lost 32" from my body, including 7" from my wasit. My BMI is almost in the normal range verses obese. A recent health physical showed I'm in great health now. Its been a wonderful journey. I feel in control of my health.

I still struggle with pain due to a violent car accident in 2010, but I'm getting stronger and building more energy.

Current divorce struggles (23 years together) throws me off track at times, but I try to keep focused on physical and emotional health. My goal is to find peace and rebuild self esteem while going through this process.

Updated goals for the remainder of 2014 are:

1. Lose 8 pounds by Halloween.
2. Lose 1" more from my waist.
3. Increase activity & endurance levels.
4. Lower my BMI into normal range.
5. Drop 1 clothing sizes by end of the year.
6. Move to a clean eating diet.

I'm pondering what reward I'd like to gift myself when all of my goals are met.

Losing weight is by far harder mentally than physically. Anyone can count calories and exercise and lose weight. The hard part is making the decision to do it everyday.

While I have both short term and long term goals, I'm taking this one day at a time.

Personal Information:
My name is Catrina. I live in Los Angeles. I'm going through a painful divorce. Husband had a 6 year affair that produced a child. For some reason he hid this from me for many years. I'm adjusting to a new life. Accepting what has happened.

I have a Belgian Sheepdog that loves me and enjoys taking long walks, hiking and playing in the yard; which helps keep me active.

Other Information:
I enjoy crafting, cooking, reading, tv programs, music, visiting with people, and decorating for various holidays.

I'm quite the home body, but getting out more these days.

I'm enjoying exercise more since I stopped trying to fit into the gym scene. I enjoy walking at parks, neighborhood, beach and horse trails. Starting to use exercise DVDs.

Thanks for the friend add. Right back at you.
I like that housework challenge but I couldn't possibly join the team, because I hardly drink soda!
In summer I use a soda stream to make fizzy drinks, plain soda or sometimes I add stevia and vanilla essence to the soda, that tastes just like creaming soda, yum! And no artificial flavoring (pure vanilla essence)and no calories.

I think if you are getting headaches from it you will be missing the caffeine? Why not just take pain killers and tough it out?

Big congratulations on the work on the wardrobe, sounds like you have a whole lot of clothes! I still have more than I need but I am working my way through... We'll get there in the end!
