Starting over...again.

I started on Sparkpeople back in 2010 at 234 lbs. I worked hard and dropped over 60 lbs. I gained about 10 back but kept it off until I got pregnant in late 2012. I gained 53 lbs in pregnancy because I let myself indulge in some things I had very little of when losing weight (like cheese!), even though I said I wouldn't let my pregnancy be an excuse to eat. Now 6 months postpartum, I still have about 30lbs to lose to get back to where I was when I got pregnant. Breastfeeding is not a weight ...

It makes you hungry, and I reach for easy, quick carbs. I want to drop weight so I don't need to buy a new wardrobe before going back to work and to look and feel good like I did last year. It will be harder now with very little time to count and measure my food like I did before, or to spend an hour working out. I'm going to start with good ol Jillian Michaels to get myself feeling stronger again.

This is a wonderful recipe to make with your kids for Easter. You can find it and more Kid's recipes in my "Kids at Heart", my Sparkpeople cookbook at:

Easter Story Cookies
Submitted by: BEARLEE4.

Place the cookie dough on a cookie sheet and place it in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF.

Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed.

GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read John 16:20 and 22.

On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty.
Read Matt. 28:1-9

Happy Easter,
Love,
Vera

emoticon I Pronounce War Against Gluttony!!

My slogan for this year is:

"We Will Improve Ourselves in 2012!!"

And I can hardly believe that we are going into the month of March already. Focus on our goals girls! We are almost a third into this year. We need to get busy!

Tip: Prayer

1. Pray and visualize a flat belly.
2. Get serious about this weight loss battle.
3. Go to war and pray against gluttony and obesity when you sit down to eat.

We Can Do It!
Love, Vera
