Feeding a horse so the kid can feed goats - penned together and the horse was a bully.

The real reason I try to run 5k's.

I used to be one of those obnoxious people who could eat anything and never gain weight. I couldn't gain weight when that was the goal even. It's not longer the case and now I really have to start paying more attention to what I eat and what I do.

Other things - I'm in the process of doing a re-write on a book I hope to ultimately get published.

Spiritually - I consider myself a non-denominational pagan. ;)

I am seriously addicted to reading books. It's rare for me to be reading less than three books as a time. I am so addicted, that I recently decided to give in to the audiobook world. The 15 minute commute to work was just "free" time I wasn't reading.

My Goals:
The newest goal (as of 01-03-16) :

Restarting the C25K program. I hate running, but I hate that me knees make it almost impossible to run. I keep doing 5K's though so the plan is to start up again. The first one of the year is usually the last weekend in April. Starting the C25K on the 4th of January should get me on target for that. My last 5K was my best 5K time to date - 35:24. I'd like to be in that range for the first 5K on April 30th.

I'm trying to do little things more for my mental health now. I've been in maintenance for weight for years now. It's time to work on other things.

My Program:
Continuing to track workouts. If the weight starts to move too much, I'll track my food more intently.

Trying to keep improving my 5K times during the year.

I still want to write more, but I want to learn more as well. I'll be doing some free courses online, but I've also decided to try to learn German.

Personal Information:
Married for 24 years. We have 3 boys.

The oldest (age 27) is autistic and recently found a job after being out of work for most of last year after a bout of severe depression.

The middle son (affectionately called the boy) is 23 and studying creative writing and music in college.

The youngest is 10. Yes, we did forget how that happens. He loves camping, baseball, basketball, running around, reading, telling stories.

Other Information:
I have alternate realities in my head that I write about. If I could get something published, that would be wonderful, but unlikely. Still going to give it a try though.

I read. My husband says I'm addicted, but I could stop any time I wanted to. Not likely to happen in my lifetime.

It's raining here - hope it's better with you this weekend?! Thank you for your well wishes on my recent status update about having a cold starting - I feel better in my head today (and went out for a run) but am definitely fighting something in my system - managed to buy some Echinacea, so am bombarding my body with that and hoping that a quiet weekend, good eating, good sleep, will help me overcome whatever it is trying to get a grip of me!

    much love

Hi! Thanks for the goodie! The book I placed on hold at my local library, NeuroTribes The Legacy of Autism and the Future of Neurodiversity, just arrived so I'm checking it out tomorrow evening. Let's see, that's four books I'm reading now...!

Sometimes I write horror, sometimes paranormal romance (my head can wrap my head around ghosts more easily than "true love"), and other times it's something closer to memoir. I enjoy living in the paranormal romance alternate reality the most because it is a true escape. I think my head is better at horror.

Thanks! I'm just sipping my smoothie and thinking how expensive it would be to buy one from a cafe/juice bar - aren't I lucky to be able to have a healthy smoothie!
no emoticon for a smoothie? bah!

I don't know what kind of stuff you write, but hooray for writers! I'm totally sold on Diane Ackerman at the moment - just discovered her and can't get enough of her. I've just read a brilliant book by Rose Tremaine called 'The Road Home'. Yesterday started reading one by Marcus Sakey 'The Two Deaths of Daniel Hayes' and it's an absolute page-turner for me! Not one I'd usually go for - but I love to dip into books the library has on display and try new genres.

I hope you survived the kid's trip to the amusement park with another family without too much trouble!!

I shouldn't complain about my sleep. I'm not sure I could function on 3-4 hours a night. No one around me would like it either. emoticon
